  1. Thanks, ElectricalTech. I'm sure this info will come in useful. We haven't received a candidate guide so we will do some googling for that to see if we can find it. We're just hoping you did the same exam that Graham will have to do- did you go out to Balcatta for the assessment? With the motor control, some people have said it is basic start-stop. If that is the case would you not put the EMG button in the line circuit or do you just wire start-stop only since that is what they ask for? I wonder if they change the technical interview questions every time... Fingers crossed and thanks again for your help.
  2. Hi all, New to the forum and really hoping someone can help! My boyfriend is an Irish electrician and we have been trying to get his trade recognised over here for about 2 years. We are finally at the point of him doing the practical assessment (through Future Skills International) and would appreciate any advice/wisdom/experience anyone is willing to share. We know there are the following components in the assessment: 1. Domestic installation 2. Technical interview/ theory test 3. Motor control installation 4. Safe disconnect + reconnect procedures. Such a stress! If anyone can give us any extra details on how best to prepare, we will be eternally grateful! Thanks a million, Amy & Graham
