Hey good luck with the flight I'm gonna be bringing a 3 year old and 1 year old when we fly out next year. A friend of my wife took her young kids on a long haul flight recently and they had made up a little bag of sweets for the flight crew and a drawing and letter from the kids. They were upgraded to first class and given a bottle of champagne. Gotta be worth a go!

Cheers Druid an ex colleague of mine got a job working for China south flying college, think that is right. Which I think operates out of Jandokot. Think he did the same turned up with a CV and scored a job. Great info though I'm hoping I get lucky and get something from the uk though, but if worst case happens will fly out to try and get work. Hoping the missus who is a paramedic has more chance of securing something before we leave. Done TRA and ielts so hoping to have visa grant before the end of the year. Deffo good to know there is an aviation footprint in WA was starting to think id have to look toward the east coast.Thanks again

Thanks for the reply bud my background is helicopter depth maintenance( chinook and sea king) and structural repair so mechanical and sheet metalwork really. Currently working on islander production at britten norman so getting a bit of civilian and fixed wing experience but no airline experience unfortunately. Genuinely worried about finding a job over in Oz though may have to look further afield. Really appreciate any advice you have

Any people in the forum working in perth as an aircraft fitter? I'm trying to get an idea of the shape of the industry as I'm hoping to secure work from the UK before making the move. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Steve
