  1. Suburbs

Hi everyone Can anyone give me some info on Tapping or surrounding suburbs please? Schools, work, etc... thank you!
  2. Hi I was wondering if anyone could help me with some info about tapping and surrounding suburbs. We are a family of 5, two girls ages 11 and 5 and a 2 year old boy. We had our visas granted and moved to brisbane. My husband was working a lot and I got too lonely so we ended up returning to the UK. Now we have been back for nearly a year and have seen that nothing has changed in the UK and believe we made an error returning. We are discussing going back to Oz but the Perth this time. We have both said if we go we will not return to the UK as it would be unfair to the children. All our kids loved oz life. I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on tapping and surrounding suburbs? I’m struggling finding where the nearest public high school (not private) is? My husband is a carpenter, is there a lot of work that way? He would not mind travelling to Perth or even further south. is it easy to make friends? I have heard there is a lot of us poms that way? Any info anyone can give me would be very much appreciated Thank you! Cara
  3. Wanneroo ???

Hi Everyone Many thanks for all your comments, I think people have difference of opinions on any areas but I take on board what you have all said and will continue to google street view (thanks Mrs&MrW). We plan to rent when first arriving, but will have to fly over before actually moving permanently, to 'check in with our visa' as they call it... so will have a good look about when we come over then. Its ncie to have people on sites like this giving you advise because you don't know the areas at all! Thanks again to everyone! Cara
  4. Thanks so much! I have PM message you!
  5. Hi Druid, thanks for the link will look at it with hubby tonight. We know there are a lot of listed carpentry jobs roles available but from reading another's post on here, it seemed there is less work than portrayed and they were struggling to find a job. Will keep looking into it. Thanks again.
  6. Wanneroo ???

Thanks Arwen, this is what I am trying to figure out... we don't really know the plus and minus of the areas - on the review sites some people love an area and others say there are hooligans drving fast and causing havoc.. its so hard but we have small children that will be of school age when we arrive so we want to seek out a good location to start with, no go into what some people have referred to as 'the bronx' - that's for everyones posts. Will keep looking.
  7. Thanks for the info, my husband travels a lot here in the UK so that wouldn't bother him, and we would only rent to start off with until we found out feet and knew where most the work was. Is there anywhere you would recommend? Obviously we would like family areas and not too close to central Perth Any info you could advise would be great! Thanks for replying Verystormy.
  8. Wanneroo ???

Wow, so many different opinions, thank you. We have looked into Joondalup and also Clarkson... we are definitely open to options... My husband is willing to travel for work... and as a carpenter I am assuming it will be the same as here in the UK, that jobs will be a different locations... so we are just looking for a starting block... somewhere to rent until we have found our feet and know where most the work is then we will look to buy. So I am guessing Wanneroo is not the best place to start off in... Thanks for all your comments! Cara
  9. Hi everyone Just looking for a bit of information... We are currently in the visa application processes and I thought I would post to see if anyone knew how sought after Carpenters are in Perth. Reading all the information, they are one of the skilled jobs that Australia are screaming out for, but from reading other posts on here (about bricklaying) I am concerned that these different skilled jobs are not as needed much as we thought! Any info would be fab Thanks Cara
  10. We haven't got to Perth yet, still in Visa process but can I just say that this happens in UK so much - if your not part of the pram brigade then your a nobody! Everyone at my daughters school was all over me when I was heavily pregnant, then I had my other daughter and the novelty soon wore off - now they barely look at me! So rude. I am gutted to hear that Perth mums are like that too!!
  11. Hi We hope to be moving to Perth mid 2016 from the UK and have been looking at areas to start off. We are a family of 4... Becoming 5 in a few months time and are looking for a family friendly area that is also close to work for my husband who is a carpenter. We have looked into Wanneroo a lot and like what we see on google street view but would like to know if anyone has any views on this area... Housing, Parks, schools work etc... Naturally we would also be interested in surrounding areas too any info would be gratefully received. Thanks! Cara
