  6. Hey all, I'm going to make a punt at trying to arrange a get together for us all. I know it sounds pretty far away but I was thinking Saturday 14th April? That gives everyone plenty of notice and what with the Easter break I'm sure the time will fly. How does that sound? Happy to rearrange if it's not convenient for everyone. In the meantime, feel free to add me on facebook, Abby Freestone-White and for those of us already in Perth maybe we can arrange a beer or a coffee sooner too. Abby & Nick :-)
  7. Hi All, It's great to see that so many new people are heading out to Perth over the next couple of months. We should definately get a date in the diary to meet up in April once everyone is settled. We have been here about 5 weeks and love it. The weather is definately a major plus factor, especially when we ring home and hear how cold it is. Hannah and James- in terms of shipping, we sent three tea cartons through Anglo Pacific (cost about 100 pounds a carton so quite reasonable). We are expecting them to arrive this week so will let you know once it has all arrived safely. In terms of rentals and just to give everyone a heads up in case you aren't aware- Perth is very expensive! I knew it was gonna be more than the UK but didn't quite expect to be paying $650 a week which works out about 1,800 pounds a month (sorry no pound sign on this aussie computer). My husband and I are city folk so living just north of the CBD so probably the most expensive area, but I think it's quite pricey everywhere. We've heard that there a lot of Brits living in Joondalup but we haven't ventured up there yet so can't comment on what it's like. Any other questions, just drop me a line, always good to have a distraction from job applications. Abby & Nick
  8. Hi James and Hannah, My husband and I have been in Perth one month now and we love it. Definately up for meeting up for some drinks when you get over here so drop me a line when you're all settled. In the meantime if you have any questions about shipping, rentals, cars etc just ask away as I know how difficult it can be when you're moving to a new place. Good luck with all the packing, Abby & Nick
  9. Hi Ladies, That sounds like a great idea. I could definately do with meeting some new people- have been here 1 month and I love Perth but finding it difficult to meet people. I will put March 17th in my diary. I think Moon/Lucky Shag sound like a great idea, but am happy to travel wherever. Have a great weekend all. Abby x
  10. Hi All, I was just wondering if anyone is living NOR? My husband and I (both 29) are currently living in the Highgate/Mount Lawley/Northbridge vicinity and wondered if anyone fancies a get together at one of the bars on Beaufort Street? Message me if you are interested, it would be great to meet some fellow Brits! Abby
  11. Hi all, My husband and I are new to perth and would love to join you all for a picnic on sunday. How will we know which group to look out for? Abby & Nick
  12. Hi everyone, Myself and my husband have just moved to Perth from Norwich. We've been here a week now and have just settled into our apartment in North Perth. We are both 29 and very sociable. We are really hoping to meet some new friends soon and I just wondered if anybody on here had any plans for Australia day? It would be great to hear from any of you soon and hopefully meet up for a drink or two. Thanks, Abby & Nick
