  1. You could also try Gumtree : http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-property-for-rent/stirling/c18364l3008548?sort=rank. Rents are falling in a lot of areas now, and there's less competition, but just in case you should bring details of the place you have rented out in St Albans and a letter from the managing agent saying that it's in good condition, as you won't have a landlord's reference. Also confirmation that you've paid your mortgage reliably up to date? We brought all that and got a rental fairly easily.
  2. Internode have been good for us - they have really good customer service, you'd want their Naked Broadband without a phoneline (although if your suburb has "run out of internet" as our had (Burns Beach) you'll have to pay Telstra an additional $300 to put in a new phone line which you will never use...) Internode have a good streaming radio service, which isn't counted in your downloads, so you can listen to the snowy weather forecasts and M1 delays on Absolute Radio from your poolside! Also ABC catch up TV is free from your download quota, as is Aussie Netflix. Internet prices are LOT higher than I had been used to paying in the UK, and download limits are a pain sometimes, especially with a VPN and an iPlayer habit to feed!
  3. We use Witopia, it costs about US$50 but is really smooth and you can choose to "be" in the UK, or the US for their TV, and a whole lot of other countries whatever floats your boat. We find streaming is tricky unless there's nothing else going on on our internet connection, so we tend to download stuff off the BBC iplayer and plug the laptop into the TV to watch it. For premiership football you can get a season pass here : http://www.foxsports.com.au/football/premier-league/eplondemand which gives you all premiership matches, a couple of them as live games (a real pain as they're at 10pm or midnight out time!) or the rest as catch-up games for a week afterwards.
