  1. Hope you are settling in well! Before we enrolled our daughter in primary school we visited a few and knew after that what was the right fit for her (it wasn't where we were expecting!). She goes to Davallia Primary in Duncraig which is an excellent school, you are catchment bound but at Davallia that does not apply if you start in Kindy (not sure if that applies for all schools?). I think Kindy is normally 2 days one week and then 3 days the following week. We have actually just moved to Padbury and while I don't know anyone who goes to the local schools I think they have all got a good reputation. Let me know if you end up settling here and fancy meeting up!

    Daycare

Hi Sorry for the delayed reply! I don't really know how long the wait lists are as they vary from centre to centre. We waited about 5 months for Marmion although I do know one in Duncraig that has a 2 year wait list!! We went to Jellybeans as she could start there straight away (I had to find somewhere as soon as I got a job!) and she is really happy there, we then got a place at Marmion for 1 day so took that because it was recommended. That is the only reason she is at two different places, it might be easier if it was just one! I think it will be no problem waiting until you get here and are settled in the area you choose, have you had anymore thoughts about where you want to go?!

    Daycare

Hi, we live in Duncraig and love it here! we are close to both the beach and city (only 10 mins on the train from Warwick station) and the local schools are great. Our daughter goes to Davallia Primary school and has settled so well, we can't rate it highly enough! We also have a 19 month old in daycare (Jelly Beans & Marmion Community Daycare) and she is very happy at both of them. There are lots of daycare choices but I found many have long wait lists so I would definitely recommend booking visits and getting your name down on a few once you get here. Let me know if you would like anymore info, hope the move goes well! ?
  4. We live in Duncraig and love it! There are also great schools in the area, our 7 year old goes to Davallia Primary School and I can't rate it highly enough!
  5. We also live in Duncraig, it is a lovely suburb! Our daughter goes to Davallia which is a fantastic school but I have also heard really good reports on Poynter (unfortunately I don't know anything about their sporting provisions!) there will always be the option to do after school soccer etc.. Good luck with the move!
  6. Hi Steve, I also the think electric and gas estimate should probably be monthly. Rent is expensive so will be higher, but this obviously depends on where you want to live/size etc.. We pay $25 a week health insurance for a family of four, it is pretty basic but have found the public system to be good when needed. With regards to schooling our daughter goes to a fantastic part government funded primary school and we only have to provide her book/stationary list (which works out around $200 at the start of each year) and pay a yearly voluntary contribution of $80, a few various things throughout the year such as excursions, swimming etc are extra. You will definitely find you spend a lot when you first come over, but it will settle! Good luck with the planning!
