Honestly there is good places & bad in all suburbs. From what I've seen the further north you go the newer the house. New houses are lovely here but a lot have a small garden though there are loads of parks with each suburb. The older houses normally have a bit more land to them. I'd say if you children are close to school age then base your questions around schools as well, especially if going public. So first question.... New or old Budget.... this narrows it down, if it's too cheap there's normally a reason Next ..... Schools If you want to be close to public transport and so on..... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Yes, yes & in case you didn't get the other two Yes 1. it's hard to dry your clothes in the winter with no central heating 2. heating it will help warm up these cold Aussie homes. Heated towel rail is also a good idea as it dries towels and hopefully warms bathroom/ ensuite and helps dry out the room and with the mould. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

We are in what classed as old Quinns so nearer Mindarie and we are glad we bought here. There has been a few break ins (cars etc) but we haven't seen anything around us. We are close to beaches there's a dog beach as well, Shops, cafes, plenty of choice with doctors, dentists and schools two private ( good reps) and public schools. Freeway is getting closer so driving to the city will be even easier, sports club. There's Aldi, Coles & Woolworths a short drive away as well as a small shopping centre, close to Joondalup if you want to go bigger. There's is also a lot of Brits & Irish up this end. Hope this helps, I tried to think of all the reasons we choose here as to the other two areas we started with. When we first came over we were in Kewdale (close to city) holiday rental then looked SOR but decided to go NOR and just have gone slightly more North with each move, though I'm not sure if I'd go any further North but that's personal choice I prefer older houses as you get more land for your money. All suburbs have good & bad areas within it. Butler is another cheaper area, there is a train station in Currambine, Butler & Butler which makes popping into the city a doddle. We moved from Joondalup by Currambine station which was really handy, then to Kinross for a schooling and now we have bought in Quinns 10 min walk to beach and within all chosen schools. All lot here depends on age of your children and schools are they can be strict with catchment area in the public schools. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Hi Lisa, I'm in the next suburb (quinns) I'm not quite in the same boat. I have 3 kids 19, 15 & 13 and I understand where you are coming from they don't want to hang out with us oldies. I do have a Hubby though and I work PT in Ocean Keys. If you fancy a coffee give me a shout. There's also a group on FB for over 45's and they meet in Butler most Tuesday's I haven't quite made it there yet but hoping to soon [emoji3]️[emoji3]️[emoji3]

Hi I understand what you mean with work, it's hard to fit all the things in some weeks. I work some week days and Saturday so we try to keep Sunday as family day, not leaving a lot of time to meet others. I haven't seen Ang or Pete for a while now again due to wok, family etc. She was working in bed & bath in lakeside last time we spoke but I don't go into lakeside very much now as we are up in quinns now so Clarkson is our nearest centre. Depending where you are now try joining a sports club or something similar it will get you out and you might meet some couples there [emoji3][emoji3][emoji3]

Oh Chauhan5, what a bummer [emoji30]. Hopefully you'll find friends soon maybe give the groups above a try. My hubby's FIFO so he's not always around for family meets and my kids are at the age 18b, 15b &12g the boys would rather sit @ home or meet up with school friends. In the groups there's always meets and we @ life begins @ 40ish try to get together @ Mullaloo during school hols and it sounds like it might be worth keeping an eye on it as we have kids from 18 (when I can get him there lol) to 6 and there a few boys 16 -14. Might be worth a starting point

To help with us more experience ladies/families there are a couple of 40's groups on FB for NOR. They often meet up coffee mornings, nights out & holiday meets, give them a go [emoji2]

My eldest is in Belridge, my middle lasted 2wks there and is now in Kinross so is my youngest. Belridge has a bad rep but I think it is trying hard to move away from that. As said before it all depends on the child what suited my eldest didn't suit the other two :-)

Hi everyone, we are a couple in our mid to late 40's with teenage children. Hubby works 2/1. We already have plans for the 7th so can't make that one, but will keep an eye on post and next time OH home and you have a get together we will try to come & meet everyone.

A lot like to remove & put their own on. We did find someone who was willing to carry on with existing brace in Joondalup. Make sure you have X-rays & any notes etc from any exsiting orthodontist,nthat will also save you money when you get here as they know how to charge :-)

There is good Orthododtist all over, profile has a good rep. A lot of health policy's don't allow claims for treatment for the first 12mths then it only covers a percentage. Price's vary depending on length @ type of treatment. Our son is having adjustments on his exsiting brace and its costing us just under $4000.00

Well 5 months on and the story so far. The kids have all made friends in school, which is really good. They have settled really well, and are happy and do not missed the UK though they do still miss close friends & family, but overall it has been a good move for them ​Time is a wonderful thing :-)
