  3. Hi, I'm 32 and have been living in Scarborough with my partner for just over a year now. We have recently found out I'm pregnant and I was wondering if anyone could recommend any antinatal classes that I could go to? Also it would be great to meet up for a coffee with other mums to be as it's all kind of new to me as it's our first! Speak soon Jess
  4. Hi there, my name is Jess and I am a Primary School Teacher aged 31 looking to look after your lovely children over the holidays. I am fun, caring, creative and have a good sense of humour. I would be willing to do various activities such as baking, art, reading stories, sports, swimming, visiting attractions etc. with your children. I am available all Summer and can be available throughout the week and some evenings before and after the holidays as I am currently relief teaching. I have my own transport and live in Scarborough. In addition, I would be able to tutor or offer support with learning English as a second Language. I would be looking for $25 per hour and for you to cover any entry fees, cost of art materials, ingredients, possible contribution to fuel for activities that may be further afieldetc. I consider myself to be fair, reliable and trustworthy and have undergone all the necessary checks including working with children childcare check, police check, first aid etc. I am originally from Scotland but have permanent residency. I take an interest in healthy eating and food and am able to prepare healthy snacks and meals. My degree was linked to this and I have worked as a nutritional analysis before studying to be a Primary Teacher. But don't worry I do believe in having everything in moderation and do enjoy a treat too! Looking forward to hearing from you!
  5. Hi, I am 31 years old and am a qualified Primary School Teacher from Scotland in my 6th year of teaching. I have recently emigrated to Perth on a permanent visa and have applied for permanent teaching jobs starting 2014. However, I would be available to look after or tutor children over the Summer holidays. I have my own car so would be able to take them on trips to the beach, park etc. and do art and craft, baking activities with them. I have a Police check and have applied for my working with children check. I have had my teaching qualifications assessed with AITSL and TRBWA and have completed a First Aid certificate back home. Alternatively, I would be willing to tutor children over the holidays. I have experience teaching English as a second language or could help develop reading, writing or maths skills through fun games and activities. I am based in Scarborough but would be willing to travel. I would be willing to negotiate on pay. Look forward to hearing from you! Jessica
  6. Hi there, My name is Jessica (31) and I have just moved to Perth 3 weeks ago with my partner Paul (34). I am a Primary School Teacher but haven't started looking for work until I get a permanent place, car, mobile etc. but would be willing to meet up with other people in a similar situation. We are looking for a place in the Scarborough area but are currently staying in Quinns Rocks so happy to meet anywhere! Jessica
  7. Hi, Have you looked at stayz.com.au. Quinns Rock is further out but you get more property for your money and is ok for a month or so. We have just arrived in Perth three weeks ago and are still looking for a long term rental, the process takes longer than you think and depending on Budget can be quite difficult to find what you want.
  8. Hi Amanda and Steve, we have just moved to Perth 2 weeks ago and will be looking to meet people. It was funny reading your entry as we seem quite similar. My name is Jessica (31) from Scotland and my partner is Paul (34) also from Scotland. Paul enjoys any type of sport (can get hooked on watching anything honestly!) and likes a drink and I am interested in health and nutrition and enjoy cooking, swimming etc. We are currently staying in Quinns Rocks in a holiday rental and are looking to find something more permanent closer to town. The competition for some places has been crazy, didn't appreciate how tricky it was going to be! What do you both do?
  9. Hi there, it was funny reading about your plans as ours are very similar! My boyfriend (34) and I (31) have been granted our Skilled Migrant Visa and have booked our flights for the 14th of July 2013! Really excited! We have booked a holiday let out in Quinns Rock for the first month until we decide where to settle. I am a primary school teacher aswell and will be looking for work when I get over. Paul has a job lined up as a Branch Manager for a local company so that has taken the pressure off a bit. I am in the middle of filling out my TRBWA forms and police checks but am taking it all one step at a time! Was also looking at courses I could do to help me understand the Australian curriculum as I haven’t researched anything yet. It would be good to know some other people who are in the same situation! Where are you from? Jessica
  10. Hi there, My boyfriend and I are emigrating to Perth in the middle of July 2013. We areboth so excited as we have been granted our skilled migrant visa and it isactually happening at long last! We have travelled around Australia but neverbeen to Perth before so it will be a new experience. Does anyone have anysuggestions of places to stay when first arriving such as a reasonably pricedholiday let or apartment? We are both in our early 30's, I am a primary schoolteacher and Paul works in the building industry. We are both easy going andwould be willing to meet other like-minded people? :jiggy:Thanks Jessica
