  1. Hi, I've already submitted my paperwork online to Vetassess (Assessing body for my occupation) "Advisory Service" and was told everything looked ok - Phew! However, today I've completed the actual assessment form online and the last section is "Licensing". It asks for info on my registration/licensing to be a Real Estate Rep. Whilst I understood that to start employment in this occupation in WA you needed to sit these WA exams, I wasn't aware it formed part of the skills assessment. How can I have this license when I don't know if I'll get a visa granted. From what I can see the exams are several modules and are held in Australia and are different for each state. Does anyone know if this section of the form is compulsory for a a skills assessment? I have contacted Vetassess but starting to panic now!! Thanks!
  2. I've notice that around this time last year there was some information about the changes that were due to take place on 1st July. Does anyone know whats planned for July 2013?
  3. Hi, I am looking at applying for a 190 visa. Providing I get a 7 in all sections of the ILETS test I don't need my partners points as I'll score 65 points, however, do you think it's worth doing anyway so that I score 70 points? I know my partner will have to have his skills assessed and do the ILELTS test as well. I'm applying under "Real Estate Representative", we are a family of 4 and I'm concerned that they won't approve my application if they think my skill is too low level to support a family of 4?? My husband is an IT consultant and has a higher skill level than me. Does it work like that or am I worrying about nothing??? Thanks!
  4. From reading this thread I think I've misunderstood my Points Score. I'm looking at being the main applicant, applying for a 190 visa getting state sponsorship from WA. My skills are listed on the CSOL and the WA SOL only. I thought I could claim 5 points for my husband who is on the main government SOL and the CSOL but not on WA SOL. Can I claim the partner points?
  5. Thank you Nikki & Straighttothepoint, my husband is an IT director for a small UK based change management software company, but we've been told to stay away from the "Director" part when looking for jobs as it will limit his options. He has a very hands on role and works with Visual Basic, .Net, Pearl, Java and Database Design :- Access, SQL, MySQL, Oracle etc He will link to you later Nikki his name is "Simon Parrott". He is up to his eye balls in work at the moment which is why I'm trying to help with the research. Really appreciate your help!
  6. Thank you so much for your help. I only joined the forum yesterday and did have a good read through and what you're saying does seem to be the norm. My husband has started a linkedin account but doesn't have a network in Perth yet do you have any suggestions with how best to start this off? Again we're new to LinkedIn so apologies if there's an obvious answer.
  7. Congratulations! Did you use a Migration Agent? We are also looking at applying for a 190 visa but were thinking of doing it ourselves. Are we being unreal?
  8. Hello, Can anyone recommend a good IT recruitment agency in Perth? We are not in Austrailia yet, but would like to build up a relationship with an agency and can always fly over for any good interviews. Many Thanks, Lisa
