  3. hi Amanda, how long have you been over here? Are you finding things ok? Always nice to meet new people if you fancy a coffee and a chat it would be nice to meet up. babs
  4. Hi liz, waikki is just down the road from us we are a family of 5, 2 girls 16 and 7 and a lad nearly 15. I bet you are all excited about moving! When you are here feel free to get in touch and meet for a coffe and a chat. Babs
  5. Hi Anthea, secret harbour is a pretty place and close to the beach, so far I have found the schools to be great. House prices are good and you get a lot of house for your money the downside is that you are quite a way out. There is a small shopping centre with most of what you need, GP , dentist , pub, woolworths, post office, hairdresser, cafe etc. work opportunity is limited though and when living in secret harbour I think most people have to travel. Secert harbour does offer a sense of community and its clean. Pit all depends on what you want for you and your family really, everyone has different needs. I would agree with Zoe , if you can get a short rental that would give you opportunity to have a look round. it is difficult to choose an area when choosing from so far away.
  6. Hi Jan and Zoe, next week would be great probably the latter part for me in the afternoon sometime? Will private message you both
  7. Hi Jan, ive only been here a short time although my hubby has been here since sept he is fifo so he is kept pretty busy.its hard for the kids the older ones especially. My youngest takes it all in her stride and is loving it so far, my elder ( nearly 15) finds it tough at times but he is shy, not out going and hates changes to his routine. My step daughter is 16 and is due to come out in July to stay permanent but I'm not to sure how she will cope either.
  8. Hi Zoe, yeah that would be great, my youngest is 7 and is dying for other child contact!
  9. Hi Elfie, i hope you are right and it does get easier! Will try and inbox you still getting to grips with the site! Ha ha
  10. Hi Kate, Secret Harbour is pretty and close to the beach , the schools are nice too. The only real draw back is that it is quite a way out, there are a few local shops but you would need to travel for more specific items saying that though you have to travel everywhere in oz , it's so spread out! Public transport is fantastic and makes it very easy to get around if you don't want the hassle of driving. Good luck with tying up all the loose ends in the uk it can become draining I know!
  11. Hi Kerry, yeah would like to keep in touch, my son is nearly15 and my daughter is 7. My step daughter is 16 and still in the uk with her mum but she is due to fly out in July too. Do you know the area you will be living in? Fingers crossed all goes well for you and your family, bet your counting weeks!
  12. Been in oz for three weeks now, my husband is fly in fly out. I all of a sudden feel like a small fish in a very big pond! On my own with my kids, need to meet people and hopefully make good friends to make the transition easier. Moved to South Perth, Secret Harbour so if anyone is local give us a shout please! X
