We arrive in July and will be in the Rockingham area for the first three months, until we get our bearings and decide where suits us!

We haven't arrived yet, we land in early July :-), but our accommodation for the first three months has just been finalised and we used Ozhouserental. Obviously we have not seen the property yet, but the service so far has been excellent, very prompt and efficient. I have seen quite a few good reviews/remarks which helped put our mind at ease.

I love....... the warm feeling of reading the posts on this thread that we are finally making the move to Perth...roll on July...it’s been ten years since I lived in Australia and all I have ever wanted since then is to go back. my OH and the fun and adventures we have had together over the past 8 years. dreaming of the future adventures on the horizon. that tomorrow is my last day of work in the UK and that I get to spend the next 5mths having some me time, traveling about and spending some quality time with dear friends and family before the teary goodbyes begin. my OH's home, Mumbai, because it always make me stop and acknowledge how blessed we truly, it humbles and grounds me. that people who have never met and know little about each others lives can come to forums like this and offer each other support, hope and truth. the smell of the rain in warmer climates the high seas chocolate, lets face it no love list is complete without chocolate!!!

Hi Jaya, Congratulations on your Visa. My Husband and I are moving down to Perth in July, so we have lots to plan. What sort of advice do you need? I have also been bugging the good people of this forum with questions and I have found it very helpful, so ask away I am sure between them they will be able to offer some level of advice.

Hi All, Flights booked!!! Arriving in early July.......so excited, but so much too still do. So the next phase is to try and find accommodation for the first few months. We are hoping to take a short term let or holiday accommodation for the first 2-3 months, to give us time to decide where is best for us to live in the longer term, which will largely depend on where we end up working. (applying for jobs at the moment, but will take the plunge regardless in July) However, I am having great difficulty finding any sites with pet (cat) friendly short term/holiday accommodation, can anyone help?

Hey All, Are there any Irish on here you might be able to answer this question for me? My siblings are all during their xmas lists at the moment! I was thinking about asking for some new hurleys (I haven't played in a million years, but I like to tap around in the park), but then I got thinking about shipping, would they get through customs?

Hi Lizzi, I can't answer your question but would be interested to hear what people have to say as I have the same concern. We are hoping to move next June with one indoor cat. Could you tell me what holiday let company you are using? I was also concerned that would be hard with a cat, so very glad to hear you got something :-)

Ok so you are all reassuring me that I don't need to worry about 'the geography' just need to find somewhere that we like and feel like we could call it home!!

Thanks for you feedback Nikkis, the hills really interest me and I also love old houses with lots of character. So that's two for the East!! Anyone gonna stand up for the West?? :-)

Hi Flatpack, glad to hear there are people living in the east and planning to :-). We are most definitely not interested in keeping up with the Jones! More so just that we choose WA because OH occupation in demand there and although we have researched Perth and like what we see we don't know much about the suburbs and want to ensure we live in a good community that is safe and welcoming and as I don't why I was told to stay west, I thought this would be the best to get some feedback!!
