  2. Hi guys, just wondering any of you who have migrated back to the UK with pets, who have you used to organize getting them back again? Is it better to use an agent rather than do it yourself? And what was the rough cost? Any help appreciated, thanks, Kieron
  3. Ok long story short, might have to go back to UK. I have two pet cockatoos that I will need to take back, does anyone know what sort of money that would entail and also how long they have to stay in UK quarantine? Next question, I have some stuff not loads, im thinking half a 20 foot container would do. Any idea if you can ship a half container or costs involved??
  4. Budget car rental is very cheap, https://www.budget.com.au/ I use them even if I get stuck without a vehicle for a few days. Hard to beat.
  5. So there is nothing I can do to avoid the quarantine period?? How long is quarantine period now? I don't think I'd get a pet if there was a chance It would have to go through that.
  6. If I'm getting a pet here in WA, can I get a pet passport for it, so that it wouldn't need a quarantine period should I have to relocate back to the UK??
  7. Ok im 31 years old, I've been living in a regional area and working on a Farm for past 6 months. My employer is very keen to keep me here long term and I'm keen to get a permanent residency. I do have a uk trade, I'm a qualified motor mechanic, however obviously working on a farm involves many different roles. So my question is, what visa applies to my situation? And if I cant get a PR straight away, would I be in a better position to get one If I work for 4 years on a 457 first??? I just don't want to have to go home
  8. There are no visas for truck drivers. Not at the minute anyway. Have to get your visa via another route.

  11. Might be cheating slightly because its my mums tree back home, but she's put so much money and effort into it that it would be rude not to share it.
  12. Contact Anissa at AussiJobs.com I found her very helpful she had job offers for me same day.

  16. For anyone who is going to WA backpacking I just want to recommend a girl who runs a great little recruitment business for backpackers and WHV people. http://www.aussijobs.com.au/index.php/ Anissa sorted me out with job offers straight away when I contacted her looking for work, she also makes sure the work offered has good conditions for the workers etc and tries to negotiate the best pay etc. She is a really nice girl to deal with and I'd recommend her to anyone!!
  17. Thanks, I contacted both, but Camilla at Newlifedownunder got back to me very quickly and was happy to give me 10minutes of her time over the phone for free. Ill be going back to her once I get a few things sorted out. Thanks for the tips Stormy.
  18. I've been searching online but cant seen to find a definitive answer, Is the TRA Skills assessment just to verify the validity of my qualifications and employment history or is there an actual test or exam to complete?
  19. You'll get the best rate from Travel FX, I used them for coming over and got my dollars within 2 days, much better rate that post office or moneycorp etc.
  20. At the risk of sounding patronising, have you checked your "junk folder" just incase the email was picked up as spam?
  21. As said above, its 30kg hold and 7kg carry-on. I used www.sendmybag.com to send the remainder of my stuff. Was only 135 quid for a 20kg bag.
  22. Great advice mate, got intouch with Wrightway who are a brilliant company to deal with. Helped me no-end. As the instructor said to me, they are all Poms + Paddys, which is nice when you are new in town because they have been there themselves. They know exactly how the system works and helped me with everything from getting my permits to mastering the crash boxes. HC test on Monday, then straight onto the MC, exactly where I want to be!! Cheers again for the advice!!
  23. Is it better to use an agent in Perth or in Britain? Any recommendations??
