Chall
I'm a teacher and have a GCSE revision guide that can help with the writing. PM me an e mail address and I'll beam it over.
Akasully2
Best thing I found was to go on the IELTS website and follow the links for the free examples. Do not get conned into buying the booklets, I nearly was until the university where I booked the course told me about them. Print them out and time yourself. Please note you lose marks if you don't write enough in two of the papers. So prepare your self for the day, in advance. Print out their example answer sheet which is just blank lines. Time yourself writing the response to the prompt. When finished count up how many words you write on average per line, then divide into the minimum amount they expect. That tells you quickly how many lines to aim for on the day. Just add some more as a safety buffer. It really helped us focus within the limited time and not waste it counting words on the day! It gave us something to aim for. When you read the questions underline the key words. This will help you to be clear on what exactly they are asking you. I found them to be tricky and ambiguous at times. Yes, I am a teacher too!! Can you tell?
