Avalonia
Hello, Costs are variable, the Edinburgh centre will charge the most as there are no others in Scotland - and they know it, have a surf through this site: http://www.immi.gov.au/contacts/panel-doctors/ 2 adults and 3 kids cost just shy if £1000 in Edinburgh, but about £800 in Birmingham or Manchester I think, prices are on the testing centres websites. Word of friendly warning though, make sure you can all give clean fluid samples otherwise referrals will cause much anxiety ad nobody knows how long they take! Police checks are £45 each, unless you go for speedy service to accelerate the process by a few data. Visa Bureau should be able to give guidance though. How much are they charging you? jo and scott
hi Avalonia, thanks for your reply, visa bureau are charging us about £3000, you pay half upfront for the initial check, if you fail this, then you get a refund. just wasn't sure what else there was to pay. thanks for the website, I will have a look. jo. Avalonia
IELTS could be another extra, £125, DIAC & VETASSESS will be about £2k, Visa Bureau are excellent - you HAVE landed on your feet here, but they should be able to give a clear outlay of additional costs. All this is small change though, removals, flights and first two months expenses cost us £19k, not including the £3k rent Bond (deposit),
jo and scott
thanks :-) what are DIAC and VETASSESS? visa bureau have been great, they have everything they need from us, just need the money now ! I think shipping costs for a container is £4000. I wonder how long people think about emigrating before doing it ? on wanted down under, one couple thought about it for 3 years. I wish they did another program updating everyone on their progress if they did make the move.
Avalonia
I have enough experience for a series on life after the move! We thought about it for 8yrs, but only spent a week planning. Dept of immigration and Citizenship, Vetassess is the process of determining if you have the right skillset for your skilled mominated visa (think i saw 189 on your other thread??). VB Should have advised you on the process. The end result is that DIAC will review vetassess, medical, police, etc, this last part costs a fair bit, The vetassess was $650 and this is straight from the visa bureau cost estimate for my visa from about a year ago: they should have given you this, tell them you want Kate Peebles on your case MONTH 7 – Results of state sponsorship received and lodgement of your visa application to DIAC Once your state sponsorship has come back positive, we will add this to your visa application. Now thatwe have all that we need to compile your completed visa application, your case worker will bringeverything together and submit your application to the Department of Immigration. The Governmentlodgement fee at this part of the process is AUD$3,060.00. MONTH 14 - DIAC health & character checks requested We advise that you only arrange your medical and police checks once DIAC has requested them. Werecommend that you budget £200.00 - £300.00 per person for these. MONTH 17 - VISA GRANTED! Once we are notified of the visa grant, your caseworker will request your passport(s). They will then sendthem into the High Commission in London and have the visa stamp placed in them. You are then free tobook flights and travel to Australia. Nikkis2000
Kate has unfortunately left VB she was on my case and was fantastic. Now dealing with Leonie after we had a hiccup with Kate's initial replacement!
Nikkis2000
Also worth noting that timeline given above is the official DIAC timeline. Things are going through quicker than that at the moment and if you are proactive I getting things done and sent back VB can work much faster too!
