The Nemos
Hi all, My wife and I are currently applying for our visas (186 subclass) and lodged our application on the 11th June. My wife has since given birth to our son and he needs to be added to the application. The form they say to fill in is the 1022. However the information I need to update them with doesn't really fit the form. Has anyone else had any experience of adding a baby to an application who may be able to advise? We as of yet have no CO to ask. Regards A
Rossmoyne
Did you not put your unborn child on the original application? The advice that DIAC have given in the past is that if an applicant is pregnant, they should list the unborn child and give the estimated birth date. All that is needed then is to forward the birth certificate when issued. I suggest that you contact your Case Officer and ask for advice. Let us all know how you get on.... DyLeB
Form 1022 is the one to fill in - just fill it in best you can - Ie. New Information - Migrating Dependent. And details of child name, DOB. Upload form and birth certificate then passport once you get it. Newborn children If a child is born to you after you have lodged your visa application, you must tell the department. Complete and send Form 1022: Notification of changes in circumstances and a certified copy of the birth certificate to the office that is processing your application. http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/index/including-family-members/
The Nemos
Thank you for your replies. I filled in the 1022 form and attached it to my application. Just had the birth certificate certified and going to send it off tonight. Hopefully then he can be added to my application to get medicals etc completed. Fingers crossed...it will be simple. DyLeB
Im sure you will need passport before you can get the medicals done - as they need to prove it is the same person, as they take photos of each person at the medicals.
