82rhoads
hi, What's a 'VPN'? Been looking at getting Netflix. Is it a way of getting that? Thanks, Darren
Chardy
Virtual Private Network which means you are accessing the Internet from a UK IP address rather than an Aussie one. Netflix is different entirely. I don't think the tv is that bad, radio is ok too but I don't watch much tv, we download US series to watch instead. I really don't get the whole UK soap addiction but each to their own ;-)

The TV here seems similar to anywhere else I've lived including the UK; 70% rubbish, 15% news, 15% interesting. If I watched more TV I'd miss out on all you fabulous PP people and you'd no doubt miss me terribly too and then where would we all be? Apple TV allows you to stream everything in iTunes to your TV. There are movies to rent and buy and a lot of TV programmes - we subscribed to Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones and some others through it. If you do buy one then try to get a second hand ATV2, not a new one as the older ones can be jailbroken. A jailbroken ATV opens up a whole new world by allowing you to install XBMC. If you're not confident with this kind of stuff then don't worry, it's very easy. Google XBMC and take a look at their site, you should be able to get all manner of TV shows to suit all tastes. phil
I've a little program that downloads the BBC radio I want, sticks it into iTunes which then syncs to my iPhone for playing in the car. For TV, I either wait until it's on ABC (a lot of the good things are on there 6-12 months after BBC (but changing next year as ABC failed to secure a deal)) or download it from elsewhere. I tried a VPN provider a couple of years back, but the one I tried was poor, which coupled with poor broadband made it unusable. I should re-investigate now though as my broadband's better. Arwen
I use aceVPN $55 a year and I have to say they have been fantastic. No issues whatsoever.
