roxy
Anyone have any experience with this? We're both in Perth on 457s and will be lodging a 190 once we get our vetassess back. Im currently 30 weeks and hope to lodge before my due date but what is the process? So many questions... I know its not likely but for interest sake... what if the visa is granted before shes born? or What happens if its granted and shes born a few weeks after that? Another application for her? Gahhh so confusing! At what stage does her existance need to be documented to DIAC and what impact will this have on our application? Thanks
CookieCrumble
Have you done your medicals already? I thought the x-ray required for your medical was the thing that holds you back from completing your application if you were pregnant. CookieCrumble
That's good then, nothing stopping you lodging! Have to say I haven't clue about your bubs visa status.... my assumption would be if you got your 190 though before the birth then they will be an aussie citizen so no need for a visa, if you haven't got it through you go on a bridging visa whilst you are waiting for the grant, so not sure what those rules are! Thanks If the visa is granted after she is born then it is all good, she is a citizen from birth. If she is born before you get the visa though, she would automatically assume the 457 visa status and then you would need to get a British passport for her and then add her onto the 190 application and get her medicals done before the visa can be granted. roxy
That all makes sense to me Is there a requirement for me to inform DIAC that I'm pregnant or do we simply wait until after the birth?

No you do not need to tell DIAC that you are pregnant.
The Nemos
We had a similar issue. My OH was pregnant when we lodged our visa. Once little one was born, we filled in a change of circumstances form and added little one to the application, along with birth certificate and passport. We are all having our medicals tomorrow as the OH couldn't have the X-ray whilst pregnant. it has been simple from my point of view and have done it on my own without an agent.
