Hi hopefully somebody can help! I am moving to Mandurah on the 3rd of October, wife and 3 girls to follow early Jan. The kids are all into gymnastics in a big way, does any one know of any decent clubs within a reasonable distance from Mandurah. All the ones we have found via google close to Mandurah seem to be recreational which isnt going to be good enough for them. Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there,

Ive got a little girl whos gymnastics mad too but we are north of the river, shes with college park national development squad has assessment on the weekend to see which level she will be next year, they have gym in joondalup and Claremont which is no good for you shame really as they are really good. Ive just for my little ones insurance card and the WA Gymnastics website is www.gymnasticswa.asn.au and their email is info@gymnasticswa.asn.au they were very helpful and able to tell me nearest clubs etc.

I will let you know gym here is very different to the uk - my daughter is loving it hope this info is helpful to you.

Cheers

Sarah

I say different it was for me but maybe the same for you but it certainly is different from my daughters old club. Here they have rec, club and national and international. With my daughter whos 6 they have been very much working on strength (she broke her arm in gym before moving over) , lots of rope climbing trampoline work. They work on the strength parts before moving over to the fancy work they have to get the technique right before learning anything else. We also found our daughter had been taught how to do things differently to what they expected her. Its also a lot more expensive than the uk eeks we have to pay per term she does 4 hours per week (I also find they don't do so many hour more quality training than quantity) and per term which is 9 or 10 week we pay $350. If you do decide north I can highly recommend College Park they are very good they have a website and also a facebook page.

Hope this helps
