linda@no9
Hated it! Moaned all the time. Roads too fast, too crowded, depressing news, pay for parking, crap weather, felt suffocated. On the plus? Sons graduation great, tesco and. Heap food. So glad to be back on Aussie soil

StraighttothePoint
Funny I have just had four fantastic months in Scotland and am now back in Perth. Loved every minute of being back in Fife, near St Andrews and now enjoying Perth again. Strange because I encountered courteous driving, lovely pace of life, overall very good weather, great beer and company. Different strokes for different folks I guess. Could be down to location? linda@no9
We were in Devon. We stayed in a beautiful cottage. We were there for my sons graduation. I guess for me it. Cemented why I came to Australia.

glenvin
We recently spent 6 weeks in the UK, Spain and Italy and loved every minute of it. It cemented our thoughts that we will end up back in Europe when we take early retirement in the next five years. Although we have loved living here for the past 12 years we now have our itchy feet back and feel the need to get travelling again.

portlaunay
Could be down to location? Or maybe it was your dynamic, generous and warm hearted disposition?
portlaunay
Mrs p is taking the kids back to the UK for six weeks over Christmas but I just can't bring myself to do it, I think it's generally a pretty dreadful place.
StraighttothePoint
Or maybe it was your dynamic, generous and warm hearted disposition? No it was because it was a different country to the one the OP described....

That god created the world in 7 days but kept all the best bits for Scotland? Or something like that. Is that from a film?
Guest guest9824
What is that saying? That god created the world in 7 days but kept all the best bits for Scotland? Or something like that. Is that from a film? It sounds like something the great leg end Billy Connolly would say! I do love Scotland, I should do, I have no english blood in my ancestory, only Irish, Scottish and welsh oh and a bit of huguenots, non of that Viking rubbish! They also say that gods country is Wales haha but I also have another theory on the creation of the world not to be aired on a forum though

linda@no9
We were tied to destination cos my son graduated from Plymouth uni. We'd holidayed at a gorgeous cottage over previous years so stayed there for the 2 weeks. Cottage was superb as always, but having no one in UK ( apart from my son and a few good mates) it just reminded me of why I moved to Oz in the first place. I love it here. Have no desires to go back again out of choice!
