GMAC
Hi everyone, Just wanted everyone's thought's? Applying for 190. Past IELTS, past Vetassess and going to apply for EOI next week and when I get the invite I'll apply for Visa. So here we go, need to get our visa granted be Feb the 10th as my age will effect my visa score. Is this achievable?
Vijay Kumar P
It may be achievable. Cos the holiday season starts from Mid of December till Jan first week.
roxy
I done out a mini timeline. We're also doing 190 Plumber... I guesstimated if they didn't ask for anymore information & everything went to plan/ standard time frames then the grant would be received in the first half of January. Claudette
Hi GMAC If you have a twitter account, you can follow @DIBP Australia as they tweet when the next round of EOI invitations will be. Looks like you just missed the last round (21st Oct). We are applying for a 190 as well. We happened to lodge our EOI at the right time as we got our invite to apply two days later. However, from there you need to complete a form that goes to WA government who confirm that they will sponsor your visa. You can see from my signature our timescales so far. We've lodged our visa application today and our agent has said that they are currently experiencing a 7-9 week turnaround. So you may just make it before 10th Feb. nikkiwd
Invitations for 189 visas are twice monthly but 190 invitations are usually given between 2 days and 2 weeks from when you lodge your EOI, much quicker.
GMAC
You only need to apply for the visa before your birthday to get the points. Thanks for the replys, I have been told be my Mara agent that visa must be granted before birth date to obtain max points. Is this try? Oh yes, I have heard that the skills list for WA is changing on Monday. Any truth in this?

travelchic
I thought it was your age on submission that was taken into account, not your age at the time of grant. My EOI took a few days and the SS took 2 weeks. I am on a 190 too. Once you have submitted your visa, give it a few days then contact DIAC and ask them. Guest Nellybelly
Hi Gmac Any luck to the response of the EOI yet?? Just wondering I see you lodged your EOI before you got your Vetassess result, was this ok to do when filling out the EOI forms. I was told I must have Vetassess and IETLES result in before applying an EOI. nelson

roxy
Are you joking? If you are not joking, were you under the impression that this was an instant process? I have to laugh at some of your posts Rupert.. Your so negative & come across quite rude most of the time. Your one of the only people on this post that doesn't think he has a chance of having it granted... I'm on the same timeline as him & in anticipating a grant sooner than February soooooo *big sticky out tounge to you grumpy chops* If it doesn't happen so what- no need to be a smart ass! No I am just not a two year old stamping my feet because "I want it now mummy". It has been NINE DAYS for heavens sake. And there was nothing rude about my post, I genuinely wondered if he was joking. You are the one throwing around insults and personal comments so take a look closer to home. By the way, I don't live in Perth, I attend to this forum for one reason and one reason only. Because I was asked if I would by one of the Mods here because there are not enough people with good knowledge about the immigration process. I look in about once a week and go through the threads as a favour to Ali. So I will not put up with abuse from you or anyone else, I trust that is clear. My contribution to this forum surpasses yours in bucket loads. So wind your neck in.

I don't think your post was rude - I too was wondering about the "it's been 9 days" comment - we waited 7 months for our visa and that was 'quick' compared to others. To the OP whilst it's possible that you will get our visa by February, no-one will know when it's going to arrive for you, only if they're on a comparative time line - even then there are things in your application that might not be in others. In my experience with being on the boards for several years - it happens when it happens and in the whole migration process patience is indeed a virtue. Spare a thought too for members who have been waiting and jumping through hoops for a couple of years and have had numerous set backs (but are still hanging in there) ... in the grand scheme of things ... is 9 days really such a long time? As a last point - personal attacks won't be tolerated, I will let the posts stand (but will delete if requested), further attacks won't be tolerated. portlaunay
Bla bla bla There really is no need for this kind of response surely? This forum is generally good natured and most contributors want to genuinely share their experiences for the benefit of others. I'm reluctant to jump in and delete posts such as these because I think it's important for everyone to see how people express themselves and form their own opinions about the kinds of personalities that exist. I think most people would say their time is precious and for some, like Rupert, providing advice on here may often be a distraction from other priorities and this limits the opportunity to post in all but the most concise and effective ways. I can see how this may come across as being curt but I'm certain, in Rupert's case at least, his intentions were only to seek clarity. Please, could we keep the communication on an adult to adult basis?

I have stated my MARA agent advised me that our visa needs to be granted by my bday to obtain maximum points. This is the only reason that after only 9 days (14 now) I feel like I am pulling my hair out because, for me, every single day counts! I appreciate everyone is on their own, very different, journey and others have been waiting months but it is hard not knowing what the future holds for my family and most importantly my young children. You shouldn't assume my journey has been so smooth, because it hasn't. The majority of people on this forum are here to offer advice and support one another when needed so. To everyone else....thanks for your posts and continued encouragement.
