Well..i never saw this coming. After years of trying and being told, it wasn't possible, the unthinkable has happened!!!!

The House has gone up for sale, plans have been made for the move next year...don't know what to do now. Would it be a bad decision to move with a new baby, or arrive pregnant??

Were both stuck as this is a very happy surprise, but now unsure when we make the move over!!

HELP!!!!!

Mike and Steph!!!!

congratulations, life has a funny way of working out how it's supposed to so go with the flow. I'm sure there are pros and cons of having baby here or there but ultimately it's what is going to be best for you. There are some fabulous midwives over there as well as over here ;-) I'll be making the move next year and looking for work so I'm you want a private midwife get in touch!! lol

good luck,

J xxxxx

Congrats to you both, its all part of the master plan, I believe in fate! On the plus side, you could have an aussie bab, and numerous Midwives very capable of helping you when you get here....very valuable to have all that expertise around you! Good luck in whatever you decide to do, Im sure it will all work out fine and you will have even more to celebrate next year!

Wouldn't worry about moving whilst pregnant. We sold our house and packed up whilst my wife was pregnant and flew when she was 5 months. Children are expensive and as I tell my brother and his wife who have put off having kids for years because they are not financially ready, there's never a good time. It's just a fact that you learn to get by on what you have or at least try to.

We were in a similar situation a couple of years ago,not having kids ......couldn't so we forgot about it. Carried on with our nice free lives booking breaks when we could, popping out for a nice meal when we fancied it. 'Er indoors looking at convertibles etc etc

then it happened!! we think we were in -11 in New York for a weekend. (Only did it to keep warm)

its bloody hard work, but he's the most adorable little boy and gets funnier by the day.

Enjoy it and enjoy being pregnant it is proper sexy for a bloke to see his missus waddling around !

and if you do have it in OZ at least you won't have to use Queens med!!

good luck

Mwjw so how are things going? Have you decided to defenatly have baba in oz if so how far are you with your plans?

We're in a similar position, visa granted, house sold all systems go for July and then out of the blue a positive test! Still early days (abt 7 wks) but we've brought the move forward to May so i can still fly. Not quite sure the news has fully sunk in.

Still can't believe the timings, One of the most stressful times of our lives and i can't even drink to calm the nerves, another hot choc for me it is then! But like they say babas will come when they're ready and not the other way round! :)

Hey Bridges,

Congratulations!!! very happy for you. It takes a while to sink in, were still pinching ourselves!!. Looks like, were putting our plans on hold for a year. No one has offered on the house yet and Steph cant fly past June, so its all getting a bit tight!. Steph was the one who would get work easier than me, so will wait to shes had the baby and go, in the new year. Both of us then have a chance to find work, don't want to risk getting there and me not finding anything for months...damn visa restrictions!!!..if only the baby waited 6 months!!....only kidding, were over the moon. Hahaha, know what you mean, Stephs sick of drinking tea and pop!!!

Its all go for you, have you managed to get everything organised, where are you going?

Thanks for the congrats sorry for the delayed response Im so busy at the mo finishing off at work, preparing for the move next Friday (to my parents) and when Im not doing that, looking after my two yr old. Feel like a bad mum at the mo using his love of pixar dvds to keep him entertained/babysit whilst i try and sort but its just temporary, can't wait to start our new life in May.

Not settled on a place yet but prob northern subs. Going to use the first month to explore and see what's what. The internet has a way of making everything look good but want to see it in person before deciding.

OH main visa ap so at least the job hunt not on me. I can understand why youve put it off until after the wee one arrives.

Just have to remember things happen for a reason and have a way of working out!

Hope things move forward with the house and good luck with everything else

Hey, sounds like you have your hands full at the moment!!!

Yeah, it does look all rosy on the internet, take everything at face value. We activated our visa and spent the two weeks we were there, driving all over. We checked the areas where we are moving to. We visited estate agents, banks, asked locals about the areas, all this was very helpful. Its a tough decision, as I know I can get work, but not as easy as Steph can. Once weve sold, will at least have some money to fall back on if needed.

I hope it really works out for you and by may you are loving the new life..and the sun!! All the best to you, stick with it all. It might seem hard, but it will be worth it.
