ali
I'd suggest looking for a holiday rental to begin with and then you can look for something a little more long term. Have you got jobs to come to? That may determine where you look to settle.

portlaunay
Hi and welcome to PP. Don't worry about the kids in summer, it will no doubt be a bit of a shock but as soon as they dive into the ocean they'll forget all about the heat. Good luck with the move. Cumbria
I hope so. Thank you for all your kind replies. Ali, yes got work sorted out. Working in health sector - SOR. One of the main worry is our son is 5 and a half. Won't be 6 till 23.7.2014. But he is already in Year 1 in UK. We are panicking that he might have to do KG again. Teachers say that he is good enough to go to Year 2. I am not sure if any school might do assessment before enrolling to see his capability. Kayli, it is sad that you have to wait till x-ray. But it's all good for the wee one though. Better to be safe. We are looking for holiday rental or serviced apartments to start with. Buying used cars from carsales.com.au is this similar to UK autotrader? Do cars have MOT like in UK? Thank you for your responses in anticipation. portlaunay
No, no MOT needed here and basic third party insurance is included in your rego. I've found that cars tend to be advertised at much higher prices on carsales, Gumtree is good but try the Quokka too, it doesn't have photographs but there are some bargains to be had. Both of our children had to repeat some of their schooling but to be honest I thought it helped them settle. If the curriculum at your sons year group proves undemanding there are plenty of other ways he can be challenged outside of school, it just depends on what he's interested in. After school and weekend clubs for kids are plentiful here and not just sports activities so I'm sure he'll be fine.
Loulou
Hi Mike My son turns 5 next week and starts year 1 in feb so think I am right in saying your son would go into year 1 when school starts again in Feb Lou
Cumbria
Hi, thank you for all your input into this discussion. Loulou, it depends if he will be 6 before 30th of April 2014. My son will only be six by 23.7.2014. Wish you all the best for your son.
