SKIPPY59
hi all We have secured a Regional 489 visa and we are planning a trip in March to visit and sign up with agencies and meet [hopefully] prospective employers. Just not sure whether we should base ourselves in Perth and see what regional jobs are on offer with the agencies there or whether we should travel around the regional areas signing on with the different agencies - your advice would be gratefully received. Cheers
Nic964
I would say it depends on the profession that your going out with. I'm an engineer and found that Perth agencies know of all the regional engineering jobs going because they were only a few and in demand. For professions where there are alot more opportunities, then you may find that they are only local listings, so getting to regional agencies may be more helpful. verystormy
I agree with Nick It depends as well on what the purpose of the visit is. If it is to look at areas to live and get a feel for jobs, then you might as well base yourself in a regional area and get an idea of what its like. If you intend to do more tourist things, then Perth might be better

verystormy
My gues would be the regional area you are thinking of living in as that will get you a better feel for the area and you can go and speak to the local real estate places and things. Then just go to Perth for a day or two to speak to recruitment agents.
