Finn.in.web
Hi I gonna activate my PR beginning of January, when I spend a couple of days in Perth. I was just wondering if there are relevant things that I should do (exept for having a look around). FYI I will move permanently about 3 months later. Any advices? verystormy
It depends. Are you looking t do the tourist things - Perth zoo, Aqua etc or is the trip more to set up for the main move? In which case, checking out suburbs and work is the main one

Regards No, just have a nice holiday. You definitely should not do the "official stuff" until you make the proper move.
Rossmoyne
Most of the official stuff you can't do until you have an address here anyway, so just enjoy the time and spend it as holiday!!! Might add that Penguin Island is a good day out too.
Zebradeb
On our validation trip we had a good look around, but didn't do anything official. Most you cant do until you are there to stay. My advice would be to have a lovely time, check out potential areas so that when you start to look for work and places to live you have a general idea of where you are heading. For us it was about finding schools, looking around them for the children and seeing which they liked best. To be honest this was a huge consideration and gave the children a sense of control over their destiny. They picked their school and we then searched a reasonable distance in surrounding suburbs to help us decide where to live. This was a huge weight off my mind and felt more real in determining if this was a place we could live long term. We have been to Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne, Gold Coast and Brisbane before deciding..
