Thanks for sharing Elfie, looks amazing.

We are heading down there camping next month, never been before so you've really wetted my appetite..

Am I right in thinking you camped with your dog?...tent or van?

how was that side of things? Are the campsites mainly dog friendly?

Not sure wether to take our dogs...we Didnt when we went camping up north, although most sites would let them even Monkey Mia which surprised me. I was just a bit worried about the heat mainly!! Felt bad not taking them though!!

Any other tips on places not to miss. We were thinking of doing coastal on the way down but coming back via inland for some of the way.

Hi Fi

We were lucky went with friends and their dog and stayed with her sister who lives there. There are dog friendly camp sites and beaches would advise booking camp site. Dogs are not allowed in the national park and on a few walking trails as they put poison down for the foxes there are signs informing of where you can access with a dog. Can drive on the beach with a 4x4 to get to national park its 22k if you drive the road way its 60k something ............... Give replica stonehenge a miss I nabbed some pics from the road side. If you like the camping outside life then its fab. Plenty of stops for dogs and people take your own food though the food in the road stop cafe things are not good look as if they had been there for days. We only used facilities and grab a coffee as we took food with us and let the dog out for a wander.

We are hoping to head down camping soon. We were going to go for Australia Day long weekend but I think work will be slammed so going to try the Labour day weekend. Take the Thursday and Friday off work and have 5 days (including driving there and back) there. Think we'll do the 8 hours in one slog, or maybe drive half way after work on Wednesday.... not sure where there is to stop half way though! Probably some outback shack!

Can't wait, it's been on my to do list for a couple of years now!
