BlackRat345
Hi all I am new to this site. We are planning to move out in Spring this year, my husband has job with WA police. We have 2 boys age 10 and 4. We are looking to move to Baldivis which I hear a lot of good reports on but I would like to know peoples thoughts on the other schools (secondary) eg Warnbro, Safety Bay and Comet Secondary. The schools really worry me as I have heard a lot of scare stories like swearing, fights, knives etc. My two go to a lovely primary school where it is really friendly, they have really good friends, I am friends with a lot of parents, and all the teachers are approachable and always there if you need them and after spending 10 years here I am really anxious about finding a new school. All I want is for my boys to be happy and settle in because if they are happy then it will help me to settle in more as I am really nervous about all this Had a few wobbles, hubby and kids taking it all in there stride, I am such a home bird so this is really big move for me and so scary. I just need someone to convince me that it isn't all bad but would like honest opinions from people who already have children in these secondry schools. Look forward to reading your posts. Lou8670
I will be watching the replies! I also have the same fears and we're looking at the same area. We did visit a few schools when we were down there last year. Warnbro has not had good reviews. Comet Bay I think is better but I don't know about Safety Bay. We went to see some of the private schools as ours are at private school in the UK. It's my biggest concern as the schools they are currently at are above UK national average for their age, they have access to loads of sports facilities and traditions within the school are very important...there's a lot of pride in the school and parent participation. I don't want my kids feeling out of sorts because the school they end up at is totally different in terms of values and standards. gobbyjock
If you live in Baldivis, then by the age if your kids they will go to the new Baldivis High School, the primary school that they will go to will depend on whereabouts in Baldivis you live.the alternative is to go private, there are a number of private schools in the area, but it will of course cost you.
