Hi everyone,

I have a question which I'm asking on behalf of my fiance. He is a data cabler and we are looking at gaining a skilled working visa (190) with me being his 'defacto'!

We want to know whether it would be possible to gain the 190 visa without him having to have his skills assessed via vetassess as this is quite a lengthy and extremely expensive process.

This may be a stupid question, but if anyone could gove us some help or a little bit of guidance that would be fantastic!

Many Thanks

Jo

VETASSES seems like such a long time ago now. There have been so many hurdles to jump over that you easily forget the ones at the beginning. Getting evidence together for it was a nightmare, took ages, cost loads and was a nerve wracking wait to see if it was approved. Even paid a ridiculous amount extra for it to be couriered or something to make sure it didn't go missing somewhere along the 10,000 miles it travelled to reach us. Chuffed to bits when we got it back approved.

The first of many expensive sub processes I am afraid. A test of your determination to make it happen!

Hi there

me and my girlfriend just got our visa granted and we went down the 190 route. I am a welder and she was my defacto. I to had to do a skilled vettassess test, overall the whole process from start to finish cost us over £7000 pound. But I dont regret a penny. We leave for perth on 5th February :) best of luck
