elfie
come days like to day with forecast temps of 44 deg you will live in the pool so wish we had one personally would pay the cost i do not think they are expensive to maintain as so many people have them also sometimes the pool maintenance is included with the rent as lawn mowing good luck Edited January 11, 2014 by elfie

verystormy
When will the Mercury come down as we are coming from peak winter in UK to peak summer in Perth on the 14th of January 2014 You will be arriving mid summer. The hottest month is normally February! But today is unusually hot and may break some records.
StraighttothePoint
When will the Mercury come down as we are coming from peak winter in UK to peak summer in Perth on the 14th of January 2014 The issue is that you may pay premium rent to have a swimming pool and then the reality is, due to the weather, only maximise its use for 6 months of the year. So is it expensive? As with everything you get what you pay for here in Perth and as has been said for some people having it just to use it during the hottest times is worth spending more. Also if you have a look at this thread from a few days ago it covers some more in relation to maintenance costs. http://www.perthpoms.com/forum/expats-perth/14023-how-much.html Edited January 11, 2014 by StraighttothePoint
Guest guest9824
Hi everyone, We are planning to rent for first few years Even if we don't want it some of the houses come with swimming pool Is swimming pool expensive to maintain? Please advise Thank you for your continued support without which our Oz dream might be difficult to think about. Thank you Mike hi Cumbria, I would check firstly with the agents if there is a swimming pool maintenance agreement, sometimes there is an agreement in place that the pool will be maintained at the expense of the owners, maybe this is because if you are a newbie to Australia it can seem like a mine field trying to maintain a pool. so I guess it's in th interests of the owners of the rental to have the pool kept tip top by a professional pool company. Pools are a luxury, in my book, we love ours and couldn't see us living here without one. That said, they are quite expensive to run, keeping them from going green, all the equipment like a creepie, pool pump, chlorinator etc costs, and thats without the cost of stabilizer, salt and acid when needed. We have a pool cover, which keeps the water warm, stops leaves getting in and stops the water evaporating, and after a day like today, the water evaporation would be quite a lot, meaning you would be using the water supply to top the pool up, thus costing more money. All in all, we love ours but it can be costly and hard work to maintain. pea

Guest Ezrio315
I do not think maintenance of swimming pool is so expensive because its painting and cleaning is very easy to do. There are many Pool Painting and maintaining services are available at low cost and low painting cost. So we can afford it easily.
