Lying about my age on and online purchase

So i have been smoking for year and a half or so and i really want to quite before i get to old to even care anymore. So iv tried many ways to quite like patches and just not buying them but it never works. So next I'm going to try electronic smokes, but obviously you must be over the age of 18 to buy these online. The thing is i turn 18 in three months. So would anything go wrong if i lie about my age?

Take into fact that:

-It is an American store shipping to Australia

-My credit card is in my name so it has my age to

-The terms and conditions of the website are 'By purchasing any product from ******.com, I verify that I am:*18 years of age or older

*By law in my state, allowed to purchase nicotine products."

Well im asking is it breaking the law actually..

i don't see why lying at about your age is against the law when people do it everyday

If you rob a bank you won't be prosecuted for any denial you make but the act of breaking the law.

Maybe because things like smokes, drink and porn shouldn't be available for minors?

Just get someone who is over 18 to buy them, and give them the money.

Anyone supplying such items to minors is also breaking the law. Would you really do such a thing, provide alcohol, porn and nicotine to a minor? If so, wow, I'm speechless.

Given your age in relation to the harm effect just keep smoking for three months and then buy the things when you are 18  The thing that surprises me is that a 17 year old can get a credit card, I thought you had to be 18 at least to apply for one do you mean you have a debit card?

The point is this person is wanting to kick the nicotine good on you for trying

Regardless of lying about their age and using their own credit card

You're right, sorry, I glossed over that.

Get to a smoking cessation clinic. Go to your doctor and ask for help, there's some great support out there and it will probably be a lot cheaper than illegally buying gadgets.

Of course you are right it is just that we have all been in WA too long and had to listen to the replies, from our pollies, to all the relevant questions they get asked and fallen into that same trap of answering the questions we want to and not the ones asked!! Plus we are men, I think, and so we like the sound of our own keystrokes:wink:

If they were an under-age smoker, and wanted to get off it by getting less harmful stuff (like patches, gum, inhalers), then yes.

Why, wouldn't you? Or would you want them using the full-fat, full-cancer stuff till they are of age?

Why wouldn't I? Because it's against the law and there are far better, more supported ways of doing it. If someone were really serious about it I'd think the first step is a chat with a doctor.

Curious panda, I'm not sure what would happen if you were caught. However, I just wanted to say that I don't think those e-cigs are a great way of doing it. You are still inhaling nicotine, albeit minus the tar, and you are still putting your fingers up to your lips with something that resembles the cigarette. I just don't see how that can help you break the habit when your still doing both.
