returnofthejedi
Hi all Does anyone know of anywhere I can obtain a printable copy of the current 457 Application form please? Thanks in advance
Admin
I think you'll struggle as paper based applications were abolished on the 01st July 2013 http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/changes-457-program.htm Mandatory electronic lodgement Before 1 July 2013 - It was possible for all subclass 457 sponsorship, nomination and visa applications to be lodged using paper forms and via the online facility. Sponsorship, nomination and visa applications associated with overseas business sponsors were processed at the nearest overseas post. After 1 July 2013 - All subclass 457 sponsorship, nomination and visa applications must be lodged using the online facility. Sponsorship, nomination and visa applications associated with overseas business sponsors will now be processed in Australia. The 1066 form is no longer available to download from the immigration website. If you google '1066 application form' a few sites still have the old form available as a pdf, although following a raft of changes to 457 visas last year, I'm not sure how useful the old form will be to you. returnofthejedi
Thanks Cerberus, I found a copy from 2007but that's the 'newest' I can find. I'm particularly interested in seeing the the Health and Character Section questions but the others just so I can be aware and ready for when I need to start the online process.......... verystormy
The health section basically is just wants to know of any illnesses you have. It normally does not require a medical unless you state you have something or are working in a school or hospital. The character section is your police check / criminal record. elfie
You will need a medical for a 457 visa for application, plus a chest xray if you have been to a country that is a known tb risk.

Not strictly true, I did (type 2), my wife didn't, she is the visa holder, it depends on the medical questionnaire I guess.

This is where it gets confusing, so many different answers! Some people say, it depends on your health history & what job you're going for, others say it's mandatory for all applicants. Then there's this English test, is this compulsory, I'm born & bred English. Oh & are all applications on 457 out through the vetasses or is it just certain occupations from certain countries? #bloodycomplicated ! We didn't need a medical, we didn't need a police check, we didn't need an English test.
Lou8670
The trouble is everyone's application may be different depending on their personal circumstances. I don't know any of the answers to the questions you've asked but this might help...particularly pages 37 and 44. http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/booklets/books9.pdf Lou Edited January 19, 2014 by Lou8670
