Mike C
Hi Jaya, You're unlikely to find the advice you're seeking from this forum - as the name 'Perthpoms' suggests the site is about people from the UK (fondly called 'Poms' in Australia) who have moved to Perth. Why would this site not be helpful just because the OP comes from India?

What do you mean by the necessary things to be carried. Do you mean in your suitcases or are you talking about your household things. Lou8670
Welcome to PerthPoms. This is a great forum for anyone looking to migrate to Perth. I think you'll find lots of useful posts on here. However, I'm the same as Debs as I'm not quite sure what you mean when you ask what are the necessary things to be carried and it will depend on hubbie and child. If you mean what do you need to bring with you then, other then the obvious clothes and personal items including buggy and any other items you may need for your child depending on their age, you should also bring copies of your visa grant as it's easy to show to employers, landlords etc if you have it to hand; a rental pack if you intend to rent a property which should include copies of id, visa, references, proof you have funds to cover the rent etc, (there is lots of advise on this on PP you can check out and you'll also need this to open bank accounts etc); and evidence of your professional qualifications if you are going to be applying for jobs. There's probably lots more others can think of but perhaps you could clarify exactly what you are asking. In terms of what you can't bring with you, there is a whole heap of stuff customs won't allow you to bring into the country and they are very strict, so check out the link below and make sure you don't bring any of the restricted items http://www.customs.gov.au/site/page4369.asp Lou Edited January 18, 2014 by Lou8670

Jaya
Hi, My Job Profile is HR Advisor and my hubbie is project coordinator. What about job and accomadation?? jaya Edited January 20, 2014 by Jaya
portlaunay
The best thing for you to do would be to look through older threads on this site for information about schools and places to live. For jobs, take a look at Seek.com for an idea of what's available but you're both in roles in which I think you may have some difficulty. Perth is full of project coordinators and your husband is going to find a lot of competition from many people who already have WA experience. HR jobs are few and far between and as I'm sure your aware, employers will want someone with experience of Australian labour laws. I'm not trying to put you off, just be realistic. You may find you need to look at more junior roles in order to find jobs to get you started.
