In response to a recent thread and in order to balance out the forum, what things do you love?...

my current loves are:

~ getting up in the morning to lovely emails from a new friend in Aus

~ looking at pictures of Perth and Perth beaches... ( and homes on Domain and holiday lets! )

~ planning our new life

~ spending quality time with OH and kids

~ watching people's reactions when they find out we're trying to emigrate :-D

~ following the progress of another new friend as she packs up her house for a big move.....

~ seeing the first snowdrops poking through the soil, a slight hint of better weather....

Im sure there are more but it's early and that's all I can think of just now,

Lets have yours then.......

Good list Bean...... here's a few of mine.....

* signs of spring..... my fave season (well, along with summer...... :smile2:)

* home edding my two great kids

* spending time with my OH - he still makes me laugh.....

* cake..... virtually any kind of cake.....

* chatting to people who are enjoying being in/planning to go to Perth and sharing the excitement

* thinking about lazy days at the beach, taking stuff for a bbq and OH not having to work Saturdays

* clearing out the house...... I find it cathartic.....

* the thought that we will be able to visit Aussie friends who we haven't seen for a couple of years

* the smell of coffee coming from downstairs.......

Ok, I'm off to have some of that coffee then..... :smile2:

Good idea Beany, balance is good....my list as follows:-

- the love I get from my children and husband ( bucket..get me one, but it's true)

- getting up in the morning and receiving a lovely email from a new friend in the Uk , who I can't wait to meet.

- drinking tea in bed at the weekend.

- drinking wine on a barmy night and swimming looking up at a pitch black sky dotted with stars.

- the smell of freshly baked bread

- cooking and feeding people.

- the smell of the gum trees when it rains.

- toasting marshmallows on an open fire in winter.

- seeing my kids achieve things beyond anything I could have imagined.

- Laughing....at myself mostly.

- feeling very blessed to wake up every morning.

- chocolate :cute:

I love all your things too (love and cuddles from my kids though, not yours!) and i will add a couple more

-the thought of having my morning coffee outside when we move to perth

-sunshine shining in my bedroom window when I wake up (its been a while) instead of the dark grey its been for ages here.

-the fact we are able to have the opportunity to emigrate when so many can't.

-listening to my son learn more words and sentances and actually have a little conversation with me while sitting on my lap now.

- the feeling at the end of a successful wedding that we have helped to make a couple's 'special day' a bit more special.

Here's a few I can think of right now:

- My kids and hubby spending quality family time

- Seeing my boys grow into real nice, considerate young men

- My fur kid greeting me as I get home from work

- Cooking for a good get together/catch up

- Planning, feeling excited about the future, and sharing that excitement

- A nice glass of rose wine

I could go on but hey hoe

I like this thread! Great idea to make you feelpositive and appreciate the good things. OK, here goes:

-at the moment, I am LOVING my shiney new engagement ring and my amazing NEW fiance! My bf propose on christmas day and I couldn't be happier :)

-my family. I have the most loving parents, brother and nan. And my friends. :)

-I love the fact that I am in the process of starting a new adventure. I am so happy and excited; if I try and forget my more negative feelings and start thinking positively, it makes me realise how unbelievably lucky I am that I have this opportunity to live in Australia

- I look outside and think that although I dream of Australia and I hate the commute into London, I have a great job with some lovely people and will be sad to leave it an them behind.

-Nandos....I love Nandos and could quite possibly eat one now.

I can't think of any more loves, btu I know I am pretty happy for a lot of things that I take for granted in life. happy Thursday everyone, it's nearly the weekend!

No one loves work? No, me neither.

- Coffee, really good coffee. HAs to be from beans, none of that instant nonsense please

- Tea, Ceylon Orange Pekoe

- Daydreaming. I do a lot of it and similarly;

- Making up stories with my son

- Flora & Fauna

- The little drawings my daughter does for me and the amazing model towns my son covers his floor with

- My wife. Been together since NYE 1991 and she's my everything

- Clean feet. I love sitting on the shower floor and scrubbing them, it makes the whole of me feel clean

- The internet

- Instant noodles

- Breakfast at South Freo farmers market on a Sunday morning. Those spicy, sour Vietnamese bread rolls are lovely

- Beer, preferably Creatures IPA

- Cooking for people and seeing them enjoy it

- Ugly Duckling Chardonnay

- Snorkelling with my kids and hearing dolphins squeaking not far away

- Friendly people

- Receiving parcels in the post even when I know what it is

- Trying new things

- Verge surfing. This week I picked up two timber posts to help in my cubby construction, a Croozer bike trailer and a wire Bertoia-esque chair

- Movies

I love my job Porty, it's amazing bringing new life into the world and helping make the journey to that point as easy/supported as possible. I fear that I may not work much in Aus and I would miss that, but I'm sure I would get over it pretty quickly ;-)

thanks for the replies people xxx

ive been driving round on my visits today and saw some beautiful birds of prey- do you get many over there and what type ( not that I'm a twitcher at all!) just curious....

This is a lovely post. Here is my list:

* Good food in a lovely restaurant, preferably by the sea

* Snorkelling

* Breakfast early in a morning, outside, with the sun just warming up

* Breakfast in bed on a weekend, browsing the internet for all things Perth

I love it when I get up and it's my day off and I don't have to rush.

I love it when my son says bless you instead of bless me when he sneezes.

I love line dried laundry.

I love the smell of plasticine and new books.

I love reading and will read anything.

I love Lego and colouring in.

I love new make up.

I love my dressing gown.

Most of all I love laughing.

I love this thread, thank you!

I love that it's made me stop and count my blessings and think of all the things I love about my life, like......

The random conversations we have with our children at the dinner table

A really juicy bit of gossip

A clean house and a full fridge

Feeding people

The way my son carries himself a little taller when he scores a try

Hearing a song that takes me back to a time I'd almost forgotten

Waking up to find my youngest has sneaked into our bed and is cuddled up perfectly in the space in the middle

Looking through old photos

Getting flowers for no reason

Having the biggest adventure of my life to look forward to and knowing that I get to share every moment with my 3 best friends

:D

Can't believe I forgot cheese, any kind of bubbly and the sound of my Mum's laugh when she gets a fit of the giggles :-)

Kindness of complete strangers

Seeing my first bunch of daffodils today

marzipan

Nuzzling my face into my cat's fur as he purrs

Watching my beautiful boys as they sleep

Creating interesting artwork through play, when you have no idea what it will turn out like

The smell of fresh cut grass

The warmth of an open fire and watching the hypnotic qualities of the flames

Tarka Dhal

Playing Indi-rock music really loud in the class on a Friday afternoon to encourage the pupils to abandon their inhibitions and just let rip with their creativity. Paint everywhere but pure joy on their faces!

Standing in front of a stunning painting in a gallery and trying to work out how they did it.

Working out how they did it!

Going on this website and catching up with all the gossip and chat

Talking about our future in Oz with my OH

Looking at pictures of Perth and feeling in awe of the natural beauty of Oz

I love.......

the warm feeling of reading the posts on this thread

that we are finally making the move to Perth...roll on July...it’s been ten years since I lived in Australia and all I have ever wanted since then is to go back.

my OH and the fun and adventures we have had together over the past 8 years.

dreaming of the future adventures on the horizon.

that tomorrow is my last day of work in the UK and that I get to spend the next 5mths having some me time, traveling about and spending some quality time with dear friends and family before the teary goodbyes begin.

my OH's home, Mumbai, because it always make me stop and acknowledge how blessed we truly, it humbles and grounds me.

that people who have never met and know little about each others lives can come to forums like this and offer each other support, hope and truth.

the smell of the rain in warmer climates

the high seas

chocolate, lets face it no love list is complete without chocolate!!!
