Just a quick update. We have now booked our flights, 29th July. We have until the 15th August to validate our visa so I suppose we've left it quite late but can't wait now.

Flying with Singapore airlines and looking to stay in the rockingham area initially

any hints, tips and/or advice more than welcome. Hopefully We'll get to share a beer with some of you in the near future :)

We're flying on the 31st of July and we're staying in Rockingham for the first month. I've got a feeling these next few months are gonna fly by?! :o)

We arrive in 13 May and will be staying with family in Waikiki. Would love to meet up for coffee or wine. We have 3 kids aged 7, 7 and 9.

Waikiki is where we are looking to head for initially. Do you know much about the area?

We have 2 children (boy who will be five and a little girl, 2) and will be hoping for a good school - our little boy is a real sponge for knowledge and loves school, so hopefully he'll continue to thrive in school over there

Pack some wet weather clothing at the top of your suitcase, as well as a jumper. July, August and most of September are the cold months with lots of rain

I think my whole suitcase is full of clothes suitable for cold wet weather!!!! Somehow though I think I think WA cold wet weather won't be the same

My SIL lives in Waikiki, Harrington Waters, and we've visited so we know a bit about the area. We'll be staying with her when we first arrive whilst OH sorts out work and we decide where we want to live but likely it'll be somewhere between Rockingham and Mandarah.

Have you been there before? Have you got friends or family in the area?

Lou

When we moved from Scotland to Gloucestershire, we almost didn't make it as we'd been snowed in for weeks. It was the middle of a record breaking winter but we were wandering around without coats as it seemed so mild to us. That's kind of how I imagine a Perth winter will be. I think my kids will be hitting the beach regardless :)

That's good that you have a base to set up from.

No, we haven't been to WA before. We travelled in Australia years ago and always wanted to return. Just feel drawn to Perth and its the only state that would offer us sponsorship.

As for Waikiki - To be honest I just liked the name (we went to Waikiki in Hawaii for our honeymoon, so it caught my eye)

But, having done bits of research on the area it looks like it could be a promising place to live
