Guest Benatherton1
Hi all, Its finally time.... my wife and I both fly out on Monday morning from Manchester, and are inbound on a one-way ticket to Perth! Having received permanent residency visas after the very long and drawn out process of the 190 application . Were initially staying with friends in Joondalup, wherein we aim to secure a rental asap and then employment. I'm a bricklayer, my wife worked in an admin role at the local council. Were both hoping to eventually retrain if we find the opportunity, but understand were prob going to have to remain in our current roles to ensure settling successfully. Feeling pretty prepared to be honest, (mainly because of the wife ), but seeing as its the biggest move were ever likely to face in our lifetimes, together with the fact we have never had the good fortune to be able to travel to Oz before at all, I thought it stupid not to take advantage of such a fantastic forum such as this, and kindly welcome any tips or advice any of you may have to offer. Anyway that's all for now, Cheers and will poss see u soon.

tayloal
Well done and good luck, i'm sure you'll love it over here. If you stick to your UK work ethic then you shouldn't find it too hard getting and keeping work over here, some of the tradies we've experienced here want to work as and when it suits them but moan when work dries up, anyway i'm sure you'll be fine. I'm living up by Joondalup with friends so if you're up for meeting new people give us a shout. Hope everything works out well !

I have relocated one in my life, leaving all my family behind in Brazil in search of my own happiness with the love of my like in UK. All I have to say is support each other... talk, talk, talk... talk about all emotions, fears, etc... It's worth it... we livew in a big world and getting to live in another country and live another culture makes you a better and stronger person! :ssign15:
