portlaunay
Hi and welcome to PP. If you've read through you probably know what the answer is; first step, check to see if your roles are on the skilled occupations list and/or talk to a registered migration agent. I'm not sure if your age is an issue but time is certainly running out, I think the limit is 50 but someone with a better understanding than me will no doubt offer much better advice. Hopeful
Definitely not wasting your time if its what you want. We started the process 6 months ago and I am 50 in two weeks and the principal applicant, we are now at the point of waiting to see if our visa application is approved. In 6 months I have found a job, been offered it, done IELTs just in case (8.5), got positive skills assessments from both ANMAC and VETASSESS, all done bar medicals so just at the last hurdle but feel we have done all we can now, so it is doable! I identified 186/ 187 or 489 was our only options as no points for age so skilled 189/ 190 not an option for us. Also very good advice on here was to check 457 carefully as at my age was not appropriate if we wanted to stay beyond 4 years. I asked the same question on here 6 months ago and I have to say if it wasn't for the advice and being told at the beginning it was doable but would be hard work, we wouldn't be where we are. Dont get me wrong it's still not all sorted but least we know we have tried. We also have a 14 year old son. good luck,

verystormy
I would, in your situation use an agent. You are within the age limit which is 50. However, getting enough points can be hard after 45. An agent would be the way forward.
