Its all one and the same. The terminology might not be exactly right but the vetassess is an authorised body who can carry out the skills assessment on behalf of tra. At the end of the vetasess you will be awarded an OTSR certificate which will allow you to apply for a provisional licence to work in oz. once any conditions on the OSTR have been completed i.e. Gap training, you then submit all the evidence to get a full licence.

Hope that helps! :)

We completed Vetassess for Plumber in December.. Our agent explained why we done Vetassess and not TRA but I can't quite remember what he said.. But either way Vetassess worked out for the best. Are you onshore/offshore??

I'd double check with the provisional licence thing, I'm pretty sure they have done away with that licence now and you can only obtain the tradespersons licence after you complete the Migrant Gap Level 3 course at TAFE, which is around $3000, also you'll need to do the gas course(restricted) and unrestricted course. Alot of hoops to jump through but worth it.
