Mrs&MrW
HI all, this wait is driving us crazy! Medicals and Police check sent to our CO nearly 2 weeks ago... subclass visa 190. We had the dreadful email saying the numbers of visa granted are going to be low until July... However, often I read people saying this apply mostly for those jobs where the quota has nearly reached their ceiling... What does it mean for us when the quota for primary school teacher is over 48000 and only 56 have been granted... I thought we'd be in a good position, but as the hours tick, I'm starting to think we'll be pushed until July... I just get really confused... I thought the ceiling business was for EOI, not for granting visas... so maybe I'm just looking at the wrong information? Is there a place I can look that tells me: "This is how many visas we have left until July"? Thanks PP buddies!
moss2oz
Me too. The waiting is so stressful! How do you know about how many quotas for certain jobs? I'm a social worker and wonder what the quota is for me. I hope we don't have to wait till July but as you say as the days go by I become more and more despondent. wild rose
I think I may have misunderstood about the reduction in visa grants. Does this potential delay apply to 189 visas in all occupations then?? Feeling a bit worried now!
Mrs&MrW
I'm sorry if my questions made it more confusing ... I am very confused myself! What I mentioned of over 4800 posts for primary school teacher and 56 given was information taken from SkillSellect website.... which I thought only affected EOI. But not sure it there is a similar place to inform about visa itself... or if this is the information we need to keep an eye on. All I know is that yesterday it's been 2 weeks since we have been allocated an CO... considering that the average time people received their visa is aprox 2 weeks after having a CO allocated, I'm preparing myself for the idea that we'll only have our visa in July... If or when we'll be able to activate our visa in July/August is another story... and not a pretty one... WHEN we'll be able to activate our visa before medicals and police check expires if not able to go in July is also another scary question that at the moment I can't answer... so, overall... not a happy bunny! Does this potential delay apply to 189 visas in all occupations then?? Feeling a bit worried now! VISA grant delay apply to all VISA subclass under GSM ( General Skilled Migration). So yes 189 is also under GSM category. This quota ceiling which we can see on immi site is for EOI invitation & they update it after every invitation round. Other than this they have visa quota, which is not displayed anywhere on immi site. So don't know the excat no & remaining Visa. But they are still granting some VISA on the priority processing basis, which you can check at immi site. My every morning start with checking my email id & immi account in the hope that I will see the in progress status to finalised status. Finger crossed.... It's took us over 12months to get to this stage and was hoping to of made the move in June but this is looking less and less likely. So disheartening! ali
It always seems that things slow down at this time of year as quota's are reached (cut off is June), then the new quota is released. When our visa was granted years ago, we got it in the July

Is there a place I can look that tells me: "This is how many visas we have left until July"? Thanks PP buddies! I have just emailed my CO to ask if there was a chance my visa might be processed before the end of this year's allocation and if not could it be anytime during next year's! He has sent me the following reply this morning.... I appreciate your concern about the current situation. Unfortunately I cannot give any guarantee of your application being finalised in any specific timeframe. That said, there is a chance that it might get through by the end of June. As I said before though, I cannot guarantee that. If it does not get through before the end of June, I cannot see any reason that it would not be finalised between July 2014 and June 2015. Again, I cannot guarantee that. If you haven’t heard from us by the end of July, please contact us again for an update. Not really the answer I was looking for but I guess there is still a chance it may be granted soon. I wasn't expecting it to take this long when I look at others who had theirs granted within a week or so but that seems to be before the restrictions came into force about a month ago. Just our luck hey?
roop
It looks like ages that we are waiting for our turn.... hope we all get our grant in this month........
Chrissyhannah67
Thanks for the replies folks. Just really frustrating to get to this final stage & then having this additional worry. I emailed my CO but the reply came from a branch supervisor giving me the same feedback that you guys have been given. I've emailed again looking for more clarity. Fingers crossed we all receive good news sooner than later
