elfie
Well as most of the regulars know we had a lovely addition to our home 4 weeks ago today Teddy the rottweiler. She is a lovely sweet gentle girl. Last week she was a little bit off drinking loads but as I didnt really have a baseline was not unduly concerned due to the heat etc. Her coming to a new home missing company of her 8 strong pack of rotties friends. Last Sunday morning I did an one call visit for 2 hrs when I came home oh my what a different girl. I had made an appointment for her at the vet for 11.30 am. But I quickly put her in the jeep - how I did it but I did - drove to the vets. Teddy has been critical since Sunday she was diagnosed with a life threatening condition pyometra plus tumors that appeared practically over night around her nipple towards her groin. It is a very serious infection of the womb common in older dogs that have not been spayed. She has been in the vets since last Sunday operation performed. Unknown to us she was not expected to make the night but she did. She came home last night shaken disorientated and still not 100%. She has lost a tremendous amount of weight - we are currently hand feeding her also administering high dose of antibiotics this way. Reason for this post please if you have a bitch that is not spayed as yet please consider it very soon. I would not wish anyone to have to go through what we have experience and what Teddy has had to go through over the last couple of days. Out come she is on the mend not out of the woods as yet but its looking positive. I cannot praise or recommend WARNBRO VET HOSPITAL ENOUGH. Bruce and all the staff are wonderful they really are there for the animals not money alone. ps admin I know we are not suppose to endorse business but this was life saving

Give me a break!
One of my clients dogs a dachshund, had this. She was a rescue dog that had been used for breeding purposes and had endured countless litters. The poor might was only 6 and didn't make it . Glad to hear your dog is on the mend. Hope she has a quick recovery.
