GreigT
Hi All,Taking my 2 year Husky(Roxie) to WA with us, Just wondering about the heat as he's a Husky, or is the heat a problem for all dogs?
ali
I see quite a few of these dogs around so probably no more a problem than it is for other dogs. Maybe buy a kennel so that they have shade outside
Rossmoyne
What a handsome boy he is! There are Huskies here and they can cope with the heat in summer if you have water available for them to wallow in (think child's clam shell sand pit but filled with water at frequent intervals). You can also buy what we call a Trampoline Bed for dogs here. http://www.oo.com.au/Tail-Waggers-Large-Elevated-Tr_P226214.cfm?cm_mmc=Google-_-PLA-_-PetSupplies-_-PetBeds&CAWELAID=730008540000465744&CAGPSPN=pla&gclid=CI_6ifW5xr0CFYVZpQodKiQA1Q.... just a link to one of many that you can buy here. My Lab has one of these trampoline beds outside that I soak with the hose on hot days to keep him cool when he lays on it. Said spoilt Lab (who is indoors when we are home and now I am retired that means during the day so he has aircon to relax in until I go out) also has a huge kennel for days when he is outside in the winter.... and I have a very large undercover outside area that keeps him dry in the wet and out of the sun in the heat. Your handsome boy will be fine Greig and Mrs Greig. The fact that you are bringing him with you shows how much you love him and what you will do to make sure he is comfy and loved. Let me know if you need any further info on anything pet wise.....
