SJT
We have been here 9 months and can't believe how quick it has gone. Now I really struggle with the heat (yes I know maybe Perth is not the best place to live if you don't like the sun/heat), but I found I coped quite well with the summer, knew when to stay indoors etc. Now over the last couple of days the temperature has gone down a bit which is lovely, but I'm finding that I'm cold and have taken to wearing cardigans already. So now I know that during Perth's winter I think I am going to be wrapped up like I was back the UK winter's. Now I would never have said that 24 degree weather was cold, as that was a summer's day back in the UK, but its a bit chilly here in that weather. And there is NO way on earth I will sit on the beach in July this year unlike we did every single day last year - isn't it funny how quickly you get use to Perth's nice days and start to feel the cold, surely I'm not the only person. ali
My daughter lives in her snuggly over winter, I love my hot water bottle. Last night I actually had a sheet covering me when I was sleeping - the first time since October
Nancy
So it doesn't Seem unreasonable then to have an electric blanket on my list of what we need in perth..lol
Nikkis2000
We've only been here three months. In the evenings i'm back in combats and the occasional fleece and have a cardie with me at work. Windows are shut at night now, which even if a bit warm still at least shuts out traffic noise!! Aidy Woodrup
Shorts and t-shirt today and going to the beach tomorrow (just come from highs of 9 in Manchester)... I for one am not looking forward to next year when I feel cold at 24 degrees!
odies
my son always says its relative, because it has been so warm you feel the drop in temp very quick. I know last august I was frozen wished I had brought my jumpers with me
Finland
Meanwhile back in Europe... in Finland we had today -5C, spring is here but still quite cold.... I'm looking forward to the acclimatization to Perth... and based on all the tips on PP will be packing our woollies and warm jackets, too! In the dry&hot season I'm planning on using the RainyMood site accompanied with some blackbird singing from YouTube ( ) to cure eventual bouts of acclimatization challenges :smile2:
Akasully2
Since reading this this morning, I been on line and ordered my first ever onsie (if i am ever seen out in it in public you have permission to ridicule me) and one for my son, who also has turned his nose up at them so far. I then ordered a fleece covered hot water bottle in readiness! I asked my OH If he wanted one and he declined stating he was a man!
Sideshowdeb
Slanket Porty? I actually have one of these. It was a gift from my Mum, years ago. We all laughed when we got it, but when is chilly and the blankets come out from behind the sofa, that's the one we fight over, because you have your hands free for PP etc. Guess we'll be fighting over it in Perth too...?! :-D
verystormy
I am one of those people that is always hot - probably being brought up in Boro! So actually love Perth winter. But my wife will be wrapped up like it was the actic from May
SJT
Hubby has said he might get an electric blanket as it feels it will get cold during the winter months at night. I'm not going that far, but I think a onsie and a hot water bottle are going to be a must.

It has a timer so it turns itself on half an hour before we go to bed so it's always snuggly in winter.
Akasully2
Hot water bottle arrived today. The cover is less luxurious than I expected, felt disappointed. Aesthetics just have to be right. Think I'll send it back.
elfie
Have to say I sent for a fleecy onesie from TESCO for last winter I lived in it. John - " what you want that for" hmmm he soon changed his tune and I sent for one for him did he live in it also hmmm Yes he did. I even dug out my slippers this week as the trotters were feeling slightly chilly and the duvet is back on the bed........
