Geordiegirl68
Hi all, Not quite sure if this is correct place to post this, but I'm sure the experts will re-direct if needed. Our dog has his pet passport, rabies vaccine, and just had blood test to establish immunity. Is there anything else he requires prior to travel? Still deciding on pet shipping company, as not moving out until November, any advise would be appreciated. Tracey
Tatty
Id get in touch with a pet shipping company now to be honest as they'l go thru it all with you and make sure your not missing anything. Ours sent us a 'timeline' checklist with all that needs doing and when and it's v helpful. Also says that uk pet passports are not needed or accepted for aus. Our dog hasnt got one and wont be getting one either... we are using Parair.. email them and sure they'l help. x

Druid
You don't need a pet passport to ship to Aus, it's mainly for moving your dog around the EU, what it will do is get your dog back into the UK quicker & easier should you wish to return in the future, just remember to get dogs rabies booster done and stamped in the passport before returning to the UK
verystormy
I would give petair a call now to check everything is ok. There are a lot of regulations on bringing pets to Oz - some breeds are particularly difficult.
Geordiegirl68
Thanks all, there are quite a few shipping companies out there, and we have had some quotes, but still not sure who to go with, we were hoping he could go from Manchester. Would welcome recommendations, verystormy he is a Siberian husky, none of the companies have 'identified' that as a difficult breed, so he should be ok I presume? verystormy
Yep, a huskey should be fine - it is the snub nosed breeds that have issues

verystormy
It isnt a legal thing, but most airlines refuse to transport them because they can have breathing issues on the flight. Other dogs are fine. Mine flew from Sydney to Perth and came off looking like he hadnt been anywhere. I dont think he even noticed lol.
