Hi,

I am going out in September to meet a few companies with possible job leads and am not sure of what is expected in Australia when it comes to what I should wear.

UK jobs I have always worn a suit but as I have not interviewed for a good few years my suits are either now out of fashion, missing either the jacket or trousers or don’t fit!!!

Should I get a new suit or just a nice pair of trousers and a jacket/blazer??

The meetings are with an agency, a medium sized Telecoms Company and I hope Telstra

Any advice would be appreciated

Don’t want to be a pompas pom or a scruffy immigrant :0)

Cheers

hi stu,

Can't help with what to wear, but I was wondering if you are on the engineering side of telecoms.

I'm moving to perth on the 4th sept, I'm ex BT, but can't find any info on the web about engineering jobs on the telecom side of things, could you possibly give me any info.

Hope all goes well

Cheers, Kevin

Stu,it is a lot more casual here, I wouldnt bother with a tie, as they are rarely worn. But I would go smart casual, nice shirt, jacket and strides.

hi kev

I just surf the web and look on seek... i specialise in Nortel system (key and PABX)

I have found you get very few replies but have been told you really need to be there to progress with job hunting.

I am going over soon before we actually fly out
