jono007jono
Can anyone tell me the ladies fashion labels over here? I used to shop at M&S and Next in the UK but always wonder which shops to buy my clothes in (mainly for work).Just looking for a reasonably priced smart/casual shop to go to. Thanks. Rossmoyne
Have a wander around any shopping centre and see what shops you fancy. Target is on a par with M & S... but often their stuff is overpriced and crap, just like M & S... just look around. You don't get judged on the label in the clothes you wear you know, so does it matter what you buy and wear? Isn't moving to another country and shopping in different shops just part of the experience of living somewhere other than your homeland?? Loulou
I have to be honest I still shop M & S Next and Dorothy Perkins , first two deliver free to Aus and so does DP sometimes . I struggle to find trousers here being vertically challenged ! Jeanswest is quite good for casual clothes and target and I did get some tailored shorts for work in Katies which is in most shopping centres here. Nikkis2000
Target all the way so far. I've had to replace a lot of my work wardrobe thanks to piling on some weight and I have got loads of stuff there. It's maybe a little more expensive than comparing it to certain UK shops but probably comparable with Next prices and I haven't had any issues with quality yet. elfie
Clothing is over price and of poor quality. I still cannot get my head around why everything is that nylon clingy tat in the heat we get here should be cotton. Still get clothe shipped from UK. Guest guest9824
I like Myer, reminds me of Debenhams, so that's where I do most of my shopping for my youngest too, and miss Shop is great for my eldest, they cater pretty much for everyone's size, shape and age. Sideshowdeb
Sorry to hijack the thread for a moment, but for those of us still here, is there anything you stocked up on or would have if you'd known...?
Loulou
Sorry to hijack the thread for a moment, but for those of us still here, is there anything you stocked up on or would have if you'd known...? M&S underwear! My Aunty has lived here for 24 years and still orders hers from there
odies
I shop in sportscraft , love their clothes. The trousers are great ,the material is made for the heat. The family like country roads but I think its overpriced. I can always find something in Myers esp when they have money off the better stuff. As M and S has gone awful over here , those leading ladies ads ?? anyway Next ships to oz and has some great ranges this year. What I have found is when oz have a sale it appears a genuine sale not buy in rubbish. Jeanswest is ok for Jeans lots of different types, Witchery sometimes is over the top fashion but has some really nice pieces as well ,still wearing a fabulous cardi /coat I got for $40 in the sale, their t shirts and country rd t shirts are the right fabric for oz and wash well . There are lots of underwear shops , expensive but nice. Target , I have not yet seen much that fits me,and I can not stand Gok Wan clothes they sell them in Sainsburys here.In the shopping centres there are lots of smaller shops have a good look around . While i am in the uk I am watching what i buy esp. with the thought of moving over. underwear is cheaper here, lots of t shirts are nicer here , swimmers are way cheaper here ,would not bother with shoes Oz has loads and are comfy for the heat. I am sure you will find your favourite shops and we all love clothes shopping !! Edited April 13, 2014 by odies
Lou8670
I'm wondering what equivalent stores and comparison shops are in WA, for example, what's equivalent to Top Shop or Boden? Or are any already on Perth? Here's a list of the ones I'd like to know: Boden M&S Next Top shop Mango Reiss Mint Velvet Mode in Pelle Jones the bootmaker White stuff Great Plains Karen millen phase eight Coast To name a few... Usually there's something similar...when we stayed at my SILs friends house her wardrobe was full of a certain brand and I can't remember for the life of me what it was but it was similar to Top Shop/ Mango/Reiss I may be over 40 but I like to wear clothes suitable for my age but with an injection of the latest fashion! I heard there were more designer shops opening...I have to admit I'm a bit partial to Mulberry handbags, Hudson jeans and a pair of Tom Ford shades! Got to hope they really are cheaper in Oz?! :-) They had some three quarter length ones advertised on Groupon a couple of weeks ago for $99 available in all colours. I kicked myself for not ordering any. The same ones are £150 here in jersey

Rossmoyne
And I say again..... isn't part of emigrating to another country about adventure and experience? So look around what shops are in Oz and see what you like. Why do you still need to buy M&S or Next or whatever brand? They are all made in China anyway... just like clothes here. Enjoy the changes girls as it is all about the emigration journey!!
Arwen
Australia isn't a third world country for goodness sake. Some of the comments on these boards you would think people had moved to one!!

Some of the comments on these boards you would think people had moved to one!! I haven't read anything that implies that... I for one haven't been to Perth and I'm just curious. Of course I'll embrace what Perth has to offer but if I can still get my favourites then I don't see what the harm is.

We have a Coast and Karen Millen in Perth CBD and as suggested we are hopefully getting a Zara and Top Shop. There are some really nice clothes shops/boutiques in Claremont and Subi, and then lots of quirky retro type clothes shops in the city also. David Jones sells lots of big designer names, with price tags to match, and there are some big designer names in King Street, the likes of Prada, Gucci, Sass and Bide and Wheels and Dollbaby.... You can't go far wrong with all the franchises in Myer, and David Jones offering something for everyone including the fellas!

I think I just live in a parallel universe to a lot of folk here.

And especially the kids clothes the stuff in some of the shops is really bad apart from the surf shops but they are not cheap . I don't want designer stuff I never had that before just decent quality that is made for short people.
Miamai
I went into myer today and I found a lot of clothes I wanted to buy! I even noticed that they stock lipsy there! I am from west wales so I'm not used to walk into town and be surrounded by shops, however I was quite impressed!
