Deb
Had main leaving party tonight. Had a brill time but it was so hard saying good bye to close friends and family and not knowing when and if you will see them again. My oldest granddaughter who is only 9 got up and asked for the mike and told us how she would miss us then she did a dance for us. So proud of her but so upsetting .My 6 year old granddaughter did not leave my side only when she fell asleep .My daughter who wants to move to Australia but at the moment with having 4 kids not got the money to applier for her visa was so upset I really thought she would be ok,Oh who does not do emotions had tears in is eyes. Do not know how I get on the plane in less than 2 weeks. Hard to sleep head is full of everything. Everyone is asking are you excited and I can only say I don't know how I feel. Happy little Vegemite
Big hugs Deb!!! Just keep focused on the end goal and know that your family must all be really proud of you for following your dreams, and of course more importantly, for giving them a free place to stay when they come to visit you in Oz. By you trailblazing it will make it easier for your daughter to follow once she is in a position to be able to do so because she will have you to come to
j19jjr
Hi Deb, We have just started the process of applying for a visa for the 2nd time, initially we made inroads in 2008 but gave up for various reasons. Fast forward 6yrs and we are now ready to take the plunge fully. Problem is our daughter is now married with 2 children of 4 & 10mths and she can't understand how we can want to move to the other side of the world and leave them. Because of our ages its now or never! After reading your post I just wondered how you have managed with your decision to leave your grandkids? Wishing you lots of luck with your big move, Jackie

Deb
Hi Jackie We where the same with age it now or never but is so hard. Part of me thinks what if I don't get on the plane . I am trying to think of the bigger picture and if we get out there then we can built a future for when my daughter comes out and at less they will have some where to live and be with family.
