JMG79
Hi, We are heading over to Fremantle in May and was wandering What radio stations people listen to? What is best for local news events etc? I have been listening to a couple on the net 6mm and Coast (coast is new Zealand but the music is good and the adds are funny) I listen to radio 2 in the UK. I was just wandering what everyone else listens too in Oz?? Thanks Edited April 16, 2014 by JMG79 missed a word out

rob-c
94.5 isn't too bad, bit of 80s stuff mixed in
Nikkis2000
TripleJ it's the only one without constant commercials. The music is ok but mainly home grown stuff so not loads of mainstream pop.
Peata Whyted
I listened to Radio 2 in the UK, and I really like 96fm here in Perth. It's a commercial radio station, so lots of ads, but I really like the mix of diverse music on there. I have yet to find a station where the broadcast is centred around the 'host' as with Radio 2 etc. (Ken Bruce, Simon Mayo etc.) the ones I have heard here are music / sport focused with constant ads and live brand mentions. jamesw
TalkSport for me via the internet 6pr otherwise. 96FM for Sunday mornings
portlaunay
I only listen to Triple J but the way I access music has changed so much. Most of the time it's iTunes radio or Spotify now. In fact all of our media is internet based - TV programmes, radio, music, news, all through the internet and as a result we just pick and choose whatever we want, whenever we want it. verystormy
94.5 They do the best traffic reports and play lots of 80's music - the wife calls it bogan music but i like it. Maybe i am a bogan lol

Arwen
I'm a 94.5 fan as it's just background stuff. If I am listening to the radio then I don't want to concentrate

Redsquare
RTRFM for me. Nothing like Radio 2, or anything else I've listened to before.
Rossmoyne
Depends on my mood and where I am, car or home. Love 94.5fm and their road reports in the morning and evening are brilliant for commuting. Triple J are good for non-stop music without the ads. ABC 720 FM have some great talk-back programs on current affairs, gardening etc. I also have digital radio at home and listen to Smooth FM, ABC Jazz, ABC Classical. Scot01
ABC 720. Like radio 2 without the music! Great discussions and if you want to feel like you belong and keep up with current affairs and local issues then listen to this.
JMG79
Thanks for the stations Well, I have been listening to 94.5fm on line in the UK and 96 Fm, and Tripple J, could not find RTRFM, what frequency os it on? It was a bit strange listening to a breakfast show in the evening. Listening to them in Oz now taken a shine to 94.5 and 96 perth Fm, but can't find tripple J on the radio, got another 10 days so will just keep searching
