steven_gers
Hi P-Pomers We have the removal guys coming round next week to pack up our stuff and put into storage for 8 weeks, while we move into my in-laws to save as much money as possible, Has my medical recently and seemed all good, sent my police check in, which embarrassingly enough shows up my previous convictions (1 x drink drive) (1 x Assault to injury) i declared these charges when i applied and my CO said the senior migration officer has asked for a statement on what happened with these incidents and what i've learned/adopted in the way i've changed my behavior, the D-Drive was 13 years ago when i was 17, and the assault was nearly 4years ago. after i submitted my response on what happened and how i've learned the hard way through stupid decisions, she came back with i've submitted your file to the senior migration officer and if anything else is needed i'll be in contact, now i'm a bit worried that its a no go for my visa, or is that just the last part of the process? oh and the visa i've applied for is PR VISA SubClass(100) wife is from OZ. any info good or not so good just to put my mind at rest? Thanks Steven
Guest Guest6235
Gee Whizz could be cutting it fine with no visa yet Edited April 18, 2014 by Guest6235
ali
They'd probably be more concerned about the assault 4 years ago, but if you didn't serve and custodial time, I would imagine that it will be ok
verystormy
You are jumping the gun a bit and it depends on what the sentances were in total. If the sentances were over 12 months in total - including suspended sentances then you may have a problem

Rossmoyne
Sorry but just can't imagine why you would be planning on coming, packing etc and still don't have your visa!!
steven_gers
Thanks guys, There was no custodial time served, just had to pay a fine, There is a method to my madness about the removal team coming, im not a "put all my eggs in the 1 basket" kinda guy, If im unsuccessful with my visa then it'll be plan 2, getting a bigger family home house here. But hopefully the visa option will come through. My CO has known about the convictions since day 1, I even sent in a disclosure at the start of the application thinking that was the correct police certificate. The spouse Visa is such a big process, from the application, getting 2 statements (stat decs) from people in OZ who met me, personal statements how me and my wife met our future plans etc, we've been married for 5years been together 8 and got a 3yr old child, my CO did say the processing time is between 8-9 month's, are all visas roughly the same?
