verystormy
I was thinking we have a fair few people either just arrived or about to arrive in the Mandurah area and thought i would just post some advice, particularly as newbies are used to June / July being summer. You will start to see on TV the warnings for Storm Season. This is real and Mandurah can take a bit of a battering. So you should follow the SES advice http://www.ses-wa.asn.au/node/484 http://www.dfes.wa.gov.au/safetyinformation/storm/Pages/default.aspx While most of the season is fine, when big storms come in they can really come in. Losing power is very common as well so have a supply of torches and things. Do be wary of driving in the bad ones and do be aware we can get tornados (not like the huge ones in the USA, but can cause damage
Give me a break!
I agree about the roads they are like ice rinks sometimes when it rains. I've actually had a skid on the Old Mandurah road last year and was driving slowly. Weve lost our power probly 6 times since I've lived both here and in Secret Harbour. verystormy
Did you know mandurah has the highest number of tornados in the world! There all cat 1-2, so not going to flatten a house, but most years a couple of houses lose their roofs from one.

verystormy
A couple of years ago we had a storm that had winds so strong it bent the road signs in places.
