Hoping you guys may be able to help out here.....

Unexpectedly and very sadly my father-in-law passed away today. Consequently my wife along with eldest daughter need to travel back to the UK at short notice as you would expect. Having not been in this situation previously I am a little confused as to how and where to book flights here in Perth and obviously at the best prices where poss.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Rob.

This has to be the ultimate down side and very worst thing, so very very sorry for your loss and do hope that you can get what you need. If you don't have any joy, pm me, my friend runs her own business as a travel agent and sometimes can get access to last minute flights. I would imagine however that a direct call to emirates or Singapore airways would be a plan. All the very best to you all at this very sad time. Fly safe xx

Sorry to hear your sad news. I was in the same situation a few weeks back. I used my local flight centre. Went there in the morning and got myself and daughter booked going out that same day.

the good thing about the flight centre is that they will price match any price you find on the net but also they have a code they use when booking that lets the airline know that its a "compassionate " trip your making. That means the airline will do all they can to make sure your given seats together, the best seats possible, ie we got the emergency exit seats and a complimentary hotel room if its a long stop over.

doesnt make up for the fact its a horrible reason for having to fly back but its something.

Sad times.

It will work out expensive at such short notice. Emirates online as everyone else has said, also now you have Etihad, Cathay, Singapore, Malaysian, Thai... all these will get you back to UK(mainly London or Manchester) Emirates will give you more variety in Destinations in UK from Dubai. Another to try is KLM, they will use malaysian to KL, then on to Amsterdam, from there you will get to every regional airport in UK, but that luxury will come at a cost.

Really wish i could help with staff travel but my hands are tied with that one from the powers that be.

Good Luck, safe journey.

Really sorry for your wife's and your loss Rob.

It is something we have thought about many times for when it happens. I think only myself would be able to fly back for my parents and my wife's for hers otherwise the cost would be through the roof.
