pegg
Hi, weve been on n off forum for some time now but our Aussie dream is really starting to fade ( Anyhow , i have enquired to the new childrens hospital some time ago ....... and 3 months ago had interview / details given to HR at hospital regarding jobs available to me . So, i was told they would be in touch to offer me appropiate job but it maybe in next 12 months . Suppose what we would really like to know is anyone out there that could tell us when recruitment is starting etc ? any info would be superb ) Its all abit hectic as new laws have came in to the UK regarding mortgages and i only have days weather to accept new rate on house ( then we have to keep and rent out ) Or weather we sell house now ??? Its been 4 years for us of constant confusion .............. so please give us some smiles and nice advice )
ali
Don't know about recruitment for the childrens hospital, but it's already started for Fiona Stanley. Have you already got your visa?
verystormy
I am assuming you have your visas? In which case, most people make the move prior to finding work - most employers wont consider people until they are here.
portlaunay
There's been a freeze on public sector recruitment; http://news.ninemsn.com.au/national/2014/04/16/16/03/wa-govt-criticised-for-jobs-and-ads-freeze If you take a look at the jobs.wa.gov site there's just a handful of posts advertised over the past week or so. No indication of when this might change but it is a bit of a farce at the moment.

ali
I'm assuming that they're suggesting you come on the temporary 457 visa. Do be aware if you have children that from 2015 temporary visa holders will be charged school fees (you may already know this and have factored it into your move). Once you are in there it will be easy (sort of) for your husband to get a job on the mine site if he can handlew all of the safety issues that go with that. Good luck and keep an eye on seek.com.au You could also try other hospitals in Busselton, Bunbury, Margaret river all south of perth. Other thsan that going remote wil lbe an experience but will get you in there and get you the ticks in the right boxes for working woith aborigional people too. Good luck Al

verystormy
Why would you wait so long to get a temporary visa? You could have had a PR visa by now and being here? A sponsored visa is an incredibly high risk option even for nursing. Is there a reason you couldnt obtain PR? Do you have children?
helenaveyard
Don't quote me on it but I'm fairly certain there is a job freeze on in PMH. I don't know how long for but it might be easier in the new financial year??
