Do we spend the extra on a Singapore stop over?

Hi.

I am wondering if anyone can offer me any advice. We are coming over to Perth for a reccie :jiggy:and as it is the first time my children aged 8,6,5 will have flown long haul. Given the fact it seems an amazing opportunity I am wondering if we should spend the extra and stay over in Singapore for a few days on the way out to break up the journey/experience a different culture etc etc etc. However it makes the budget increase by a minimum of £1100 for flights and hotel and then even more for excursions. Do I look at it as a chance of a life time or am I better to just forget all about it and go straight to Perth? Thank you very much for your help. Im sooooooooo indecisive at the best of times!

I would leave it till the big move. When you do it though, if you fly Singapore Air, then book it via them as they offer a fantastic deal.

We stopped in the Sling on the way out and it was awesome. My (then), 4 and 7 year old thought it was lovely.

I guess it depends on how long your recce is for. You'll obviously want to maximise your time in WA so if you're only here for a couple of weeks then save it for next time. Also bear in mind that jetlag may take as long as a few days to recover from so if you're only in the Sling for a couple of days, the first you might all want to sleep.

Thank you all for your imput, its all been very valuable. We have a time frame of about 3 weeks give or take a day due to annual leave constraints. Currently thinking about Legoland now on the way out for the kids whilst they are still small and saves having to do it here too!! Then if and when we do eventally move over (and if we have a single penny left!) with relocation costs will look at Singapore then. It seems a real shame not to go all this way and experience a little more.
